I spend 6 days in Madrid and went here twice because I liked the “Opera Square” - siting outside, looking around while having a beer and eating Spanish food. What I missed is friendliness from the waiters, basic knowledge of English or German or French and willingness to recommend Spanish food.

Well, if you happen to be at the Opera at lunch time, this place is worth looking into, even if it's just for the decor (especially the toilets!). But the food is good, reasonably priced and the service is excellent. Much fancied by the older Madrileans.

While visiting Madrid,during a short break, we finished with the Royal Palace and looking for a place for lunch, we found the place close to the "OPERA " metro station .
Inside, it´s beautiful , all the walls tiled .
The service is very good.
We ate the special of the day and they mentioned to us that "cocido madrileño"...
