One of THE most AMAZING meals I've had in awhile. We had the tasting menu for dinner...it was too good! I didn't want the night to end. The restaurant is charming and perfectly located atop the old Casino de Madrid on Gran Via. Chef Paco's food perfectly matched the elegance of the building ...so intricate and other-worldly. I tried the tasting menu with circa 20 courses. I have to say I am impressed by most of the dishes, they all came with heart and passion. The presentation, services, taste are definitely great and innovative. Not to mention the excellent services and attention from the staff. The chef did come and greet every table. Comparing with several of... More

Chef Paco . Enough said. Having dinner on the terrace , cool winds pin point service . Food is innovative as it should be however still maintains the kind of soul of good old fashion cooking!

The tasting menu of 15 - 20 courses will confuse and amaze you. Small bags of olive oil soufflé hung on a tiny washing line was one of the dishes we got to try. Out of all the dishes one was not great, several were extraordinary. Towards the end I was hoping some hunk of meat might arrive on a... More

We all ordered the smaller tasting menu. We were entertained and enjoyed the presentations, food and the instructions of our waiter. The food was fun, amazing and the service was fantastic. The wait staff was friendly, talkative and helpful not cloying and not stiff. The 3 hours flew by and we were not stuffed because the portions were very small.... More

Exceeded expectations!! Service was impeccable, from the moment we walked into the foyer and were taken in the lift up to the roof, to our departure, still in a dream some hours later. It was a little cool outside, so we sat inside in a spectacular setting, only about 30-40 pax. Every course was a work of art and so... More

Molecular gastronomy dining is not new to me! But this was so beautiful that I was thinking about the food on my flight back from Madrid! I was remembering how it went by so fast and wished it lasted longer! For the welcome drink they had Pasco-sour which was made in front of us. Apart from the gimmick-ey liquid nitrogen... More

Our expectations were high due to the reputation of the place and the chef. It was good but nothing special. So at the end a disappointment. We would not return.

We visited this restaurant on a thursday night and had the tasting menu with wine pairing. Everything was more or less perfect from beginning to end. Service was great, the food was top notch and the wines went well with the food. The location and ambiance are ideal for a romantic dinner. The only down side is that it is... More

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
