Excellent. We will never forget Madrid and El Lando. We went with our daughter and son. The eggs with potatoes were delicious. Loved the steak. We wanted to go again but the restaurant is closed in August.

Lando is a very special restaurant, both in service and in the fabulous food. The owner supervised everything and made us feel very welcome. Just thinking of this place makes me want to return to Madrid-soon! If you go, I suggest that you ask the server to suggest the plates. You will love the place, too.

This Madrid landmark exceeded our expectations. In contrast to purveyors haute cuisine in the area, El Lando serves simple, amply apportioned classics at a reasonable price. I could find no fault with the food's taste or the quality of the ingredients. You might expect smug pretension from the staff in a restaurant frequented by more Hollywood stars than an Oscars... A gentleman warmly greeted us at the door and took us to our table in this traditional and lovely restaurant that is dotted with celebrities. And the surprises began as the food started arriving, every thing was delicious and very uniquely prepared All I can say is WOW! And the prices were a fraction of a similar restaurant in Paris.... Since my first visit to Landó 15 years ago, I have never missed the oportunity to have a meal on every visit. I must say that this is one of my personal favorite restaurants in the world. So why is that? The menu is simple, the food is outstanding, the service extraordinary and nothing has changed in 15 years even... More

The El Lando has to be one of the best places in Madrid. The setting is a simple gentleman's club style with warm wood lined walls. The service is fantastic! Once you sit down you get a plate of Jabugo ham, tomatoes (delicious), and the pan tomate. For such a simple plate this pan tomate has to be the best... More

Our third trip back and we continue to revel in the atmosphere, the family waitstaff, the food. For certain, order a steak of some kind - we tried the solomillo and entrecot today and they were outstanding. We also really enjoy the "french fries" with padron peppers. A lovely Madrid afternoon dining experience.

The fried sardines were amazing! Our waiter was extremely helpful and patient with our limited language skills, and definitely had some suggestions about what we should order. We were not disappointed. Everything that came out of the kitchen was fabulous. Our meal was rounded out by a shot of some sort of homemade liquor that was delicious. This is a... More

Living from the past glories El Lando is. While you can still enjoy a good lunch or a nice dinner, the price you pay for the "classic" Spanish food is twice the one you will pay in similar places around Madrid offering high quality Spanish food. Overall, the name and the food are not worthy of the price.

Simply put, we love love this classic Madrid restaurant. On our last visit to the city we had two wonderful lunches here. Both times we were the only Americans there. Always a good sign. I had one of the best steaks I have ever enjoyed. The wines are superb and reasonably priced. Service impeccable.
