Superb traditional Spanish omelette

Wanted to go there for a long time. The traditional Spanish omelette was outstanding. We tried two more, with truffle and with octopus and they were very good, but although original, don't beat the traditional one. Friendly staff

... This is a good place to experiment with some more unusual interpretations. If you don't like tortilla you're in the wrong place. Modern and not particularly warm decor. Normally busy.

Quaint restaurant with amazing food. We tried two different tortillas - one with truffle, the other with spinach - loves the softer, undercooked egg and enhances flavor. The creamy gazpacho soup was to die for. And the baked sea bas was perfect. Highly recommend this restaurant!

We went here for lunch yesterday. You need to make a reservation as its popular and busy. It cost us €10 each way to taxi ti it from Sol but it was 100% worth it. It's not tapas which is a good for variety and the menu includes fish, meats and or course their speciality tortillas which are a version... More

Service, food quality, environment and everything in between were all top notch. I've been here three times, and every time has been better than the last. The management treats every customer like an old friend (not common in Madrid), and the environment is always perfect for couples or a group of friends. Don't miss your chance to taste the "tortilla"... More

The restaurant, as its name implies, specializes in all types of tortillas (plain, with octopus, with truffles, etc.) and all of them are excellent. There are many other plates you can order, from impeccably fresh fish to steak grilled to your preference. My favorite dish (whose name unfortunately I cannot recall) was a hearty stew of tripe, trotters, and other... More

The first thing I have to say about this place is how nice the setting is, the restaurant is divided into 2 main areas and we sat in the first room you enter as you come through the reception and it was very comfortable with a nice, relaxed atmosphere, I could have stayed all afternoon. The food itself is simple... More

I had a very enjoyable dinner here. The menu is extensive with lots of tasty options. The pepper salad with tuna especially impressed me. Prices are also quite reasonable and they have a good liquor and wine selection. Some of the staff seemed a little uncomfortable with English but that's a good thing...it means it isn't touristy.

Despite its elegant décor and posh atmosphere, the place serves simple dishes, fresh but twistless.. The service is OK, but usually not comfortable with English, so they tend to avoid you till an English speaking staff member is available. Prices are higher than the entire experience deserves.

The best restaurant we visited in Madrid! It was far better than pricy famous ones in the city center, and great value for money. Try the truffled omelet, and pick a Rioja wine from the recommended ones! Walking distance from the city center.

Staying in Chamberi

Neighborhood Profile
Chamberi
Multi-story residential buildings decorated with ornate balconies line the traditional, quiet, and pretty streets of Chamberí. Humble storefronts and neighborhood taverns are scattered across the lower levels down every block, and here and there, there's a cluster of tables on the sidewalk. It isn't ever crowded, but people are always out, poking into the tiny bakeries, hardware stores, and tobacco shops, or ducking into a bright, unadorned cerveceria to have a coffee or beer by the bar, flip through the paper, and check the sports score. The round Plaza Olavide, where the fairly regular network of streets breaks form, is among the most green and lively spots. Restaurants line its circumference and sought-after outdoor tables fill the center of the plaza, where people relax to the sounds of kids playing and street musicians' tunes.
