You Mayhave to book for lunch or dinner, but it is worth it. El Jardín Secreto is quite central & is a great place for a filling & surprising afternoon tea. The menú is exquisite & varied. The decor is like a garden full of surprises. It is relaxing & a breath of fresh air after savouring the typical tapas... More

Stumbling around a city on my own, trying to muster up the courage to walk in to a local eatery, hunger got the better of me and I braved what looked like a buzzing restaurant. I was so surprised by what was inside! It's full of quirky décor - teapots suspended from the ceiling, flowers, dolls houses, mushrooms - in... More

I was extremely impressed with the decor, it was absolutely beautiful. The staff is very warm upon arrival, speedy, and efficient. This was the first restaurant I went to upon my arrival to Spain. I follow a vegetarian diet and didn't expect to find many options on the menu, but there handful. I ordered ravioli stuffed with mushrooms and it... More

Well I like to start on a positive note, hence the title. Effectively the menu reads wonderfully, sadly the quality and quantity of the dishes served weren't a reflection of this. A mediocre dish of underwhelming portions I can forgive and forget. The crux of the issue is that the English language menu had some small foam letters at the... More

The atmosphere makes this place. It's pretty eclectic: a unicorn on the wall, sea shell chandeliers, mushroom benches from Alice in Wonderland. It sounds crazy, but somehow they pull it off. Like the other reviewer said, the menu was hard to read, and they did not have an English version, so I had to rely on my Spanish friends to... More

The food and drinks are excellent, but you have to make a leap of faith because the menu is too large and hard to read and the many don't offer a description of what you are ordering.

I took my daughter here for dinner while staying nearby. She really enjoyed the atmosphere, but I thought the food was not very good. My fish dish was covered with a heavy white sauce that I did not enjoy. My daughter ordered the salad with flowers. The flowers looked like small rose buds but were wilted and had no flavor.... it's just amazing. when you go in the restaurant is like enter in a fairy tale, all the furniture, decorations and ornaments are originals and eccentric. The athmosphere is magic. You can choose among teas, coffees, infusions, wines, and you can eat salads, carpaccios or fantastics desserts. if you are in Madrid you have to try it.

I was here in 2007 and came back in 2014. It is still lovely, well decorated and cozy. It is not as secret though as they were packed on a Wednesday night. We had the cafe italiano, and a tea, which were both good, thought the coffee was a bit too sweet for me. We also had the Oceania which... More

Lets start with a positive note. The inside of this restaurant is great. You feel comfortable right away. But.... The food was very bad. For a starter we had a salade with avocado's. They were just tasteless. My mean course was moussaka and it was an insult to call it that way. The sauce tasted like nothing and we had... More
