Lovely Dinner in a Hotel loved by Locals

The Westin Palace recommended this as elegant and authentic and it lived up to its billing. Our only challenge is that there were so many upscale local clientele that were clearly beloved regulars it was a bit tough to get much guidance on what to order .

Perfect dinner. Only complaint, waiter spilled a glass of wine and did not know how To rectify .. He was nervous and I think kind of new.. A little too fast in service. Maitre was experienced and helpful , so was the assistant lady helper. Will return next month for sure.......

This is one of the best restaurants I have been in Madrid... certainly a must if you want to enjoy top quality food and wine. Service and environment is excellent.

Nice, classic asturian restaurant. Located in the heart of Madrid fashion district. Spotless service, terrace for spring/summer, good wine selection, high quality food - very traditional type. Be prepared for an expensive bill.

Second time I´ve visited the restaurant. The restaurant is on the first floor, split between several rooms that meander through the building, with the kitchen in the middle. (You pass it on the way to the inner rooms) Staff where nice and service was quick and attentive. Food was excellent and served in a timely manner. Will definitely go again.

It isn't always easy to feel comfortable with a group of this size, but the round table in the side dining room upstairs was great. Food really good, I think the seafood dishes were the best.

We dined here based on the reviews and the recommendation from the conceirge at the Westin Palace Hotel. We were absolutely thrilled with the entire evening. The restaurant is beautiful inside with lush fresh flowers in a beautiful setting. We shared two appetizers--the tuna tartar and the shrimp spring rolls--both delicious. Two or us ordered the Hake with spider crab,... More

I can't comment on value as I was the guest of someone else, but this was possibly the best restaurant i've been to in Madrid - and I've been visiting for over 10 years. We had a group booking in the private dining room, and the were looked after grandly. Although mainly a fish restaurant, they accommodated my non-fish dietary... More

You cannot imagine the flavor of the Hamburguesa de Ternera con Foie Gras, This is a flavored hamburger of veal cooked at perfection and when you tear it apart a melted foie gras comes out. Also excellent old traditional food such as the heart of artichokes . Great people around too. But quite expensive

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
