I have been in Wogaboo many times, the last one yesterday with my partner. Wogaboo always surprises me with its excellent quality and delicious dishes. We ordered the japaneses starters (cesta imperial & gyozas), and my main was Pasta Bali (absolutely delicious, I have never tried anything similar, very tasty!) and my partner's main was Pasta Bangkok (I prefer mine,... This lovely restaurant is located in Chueca and offers a lovely atmosphere. The atmosphere cannot, however, compensate for the very poor pasta we had, which was way too salty to enjoy. We went for dinner and had a pasta and cold drink, each, which totaled to 40 Euros. That ain't cheap for a bad pasta. A restaurant that specializes in... More

They started out by giving us bread, which wasn't even very good but we nibbled at it without telling us that we had to pay for it and it was almost 3 euros! My plate of food was so dry that I sent it back and the second plate wasn't very good either. We had to wait a very long... More

I have eaten at various Wagaboo restaurants over the last year or so, most recently a few weeks ago. The food and service have always been excellent. In addition, they also offer special deals on a regular basis.

Very nice food at a very nice price... Modern but warm decoration. International food with a personal touch. Good service and different atmosphere depending weather you go at midday or at night. I would recommend it.

This was our worst restaurant experience for quite some time. Quite simply the staff were rude. If you're vegetarian steer clear. If you don't speak Spanish stay away (wouldn't it make sense to have English language menus printed if you are going to open a restaurant in the tourist part of the city? Especially if the 'tagline' of your restaurant... More

The food is ok, but dont expect anything fantastic. the noodles are good, don't go for the tuna. For the price you can find better places, although Wagaboo is ok, specially to go with friends on a thursday/friday night. Service is quite fast and on thursdays there is a mojito offer where you can get as much mojitos as you... More

At the end of a 11 day trip to Spain and Portugal we decided we needed a break from the local fare so tried Wagaboo (also, we needed a place where we could go straight from sightseeing so not impeccably dressed). It is funky and quite fun. There are apparently a number of branches and we went to the one... More

Staying in Chueca

Neighborhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighborhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
