Dinner

We had a nice dinner yesterday, me and my three daughters. The tasting menu and the sommeliers choice of wine, a new one for each of the 6 or 7 courses. All very good spanish wines. Also the food was good- and the price was fair. The service and interior very good.worth visiting!

A visit to aristocratic Spain. Old school here means male patrons must wear a jacket and tie and the restaurant has only male wait staff. We had three dishes you won't find just anywhere: eel & leek cakes; black pudding topped with fresh orange colored egg yolks and a trotter and lamb combination. The duck sausage and cheese plate were... More

Read the reviews here and was prepared with suit and tie, as I made an online reservation and there wasn't anything written about dress code. From the reviews I was also expecting a stodgy and cold environment but this was not the case. There were smiles all round and everyone was friendly There was the 100euro set menu and I... More

This is a very formal restaurant with an excellent service and very good food. The Serano ham was first class, the foie gras as well.

We arrived at 8.50 for our 9pm booking but they do not open the doors until 9pm! So this is good to know because it was a chilly evening to hang around. The staff could not be more friendly, smiling and helpful. They gave us a warm welcome. We had the private dining room which was quiet and stylish. We... More

We read and were told that this was one of the best in Madrid. We found it to be stodgy, unfriendly, and pretentious. Their attitude and service diminished the quality of food. We arrived 10 minutes before our reservation to find the doors locked and several people waiting to get in. Men must wear a jacket and tie. From the... More

It's been a while since I've eaten at this sort of old-fashioned high-end restaurant, where there is an enforced dress code for men and where the waiters still help prepare the food. Having read some previous reviews, I was rather dreading it since we usually go to Michelin-starred restaurants in whatever gear we have on and the whole place sounded... More

We have been to Zalacain twice, once in 2013 and once in 2014. A very fine institution, we loved the food, everything was done properly as they should be, the wine list was impressive, the service was impeccable, a text book example of finest dining. One reason i don't go there all the time is that, for me it is... More

Zalacain is a restaurant for those who appreciate a very high level of service and dining. All details are dedicated to making your stay a memorable one. Since it was our first visit, we chose the fixed price menu to give an overview. The dishes were varied and delicious. The portions were perfect in size. The service is warm and... More

It should have the second Michelin Star! Everything has been perfect, i would recommend it To all of my friends. If it's the first Time, try the menù "To know" and you will be very happy of your choice. Ask for the pork because it's special.
