Decent but pricey

Went on business with a special offer from Fork or El Tenedor with an added discount. The service was very good and the food was also decent quality. The main attraction is the decoration and ambience at the restaurant. They also have valet parking and tasting menus with different options. The food... read more

I used to go on the old golden days when the food and the atmosphere were great, however I went back 2 years ago and it had turned to a bad Chinese restaurant, so I was really disappointed and did not returned until last week(I was kind of dreading to go but if your friends go then what the heck!)... Spent 30 minutes looking for the place, first in internet and then in the neighborhood and I couldn't find it! No wonder! Aside from the two asian lions at the entrance, the place looked completely abandoned! Annoying!

Went to visit Cafe Saigon las night, with lots of expectations as it was described to me as a classic place for Vietnamise food excellence. The restaurant is pretty, you can see it's been there for some time. Too bad it was too hot and could not use the terrace for dinner. The service was good, the prices high/ average.... More

Went here in late June at the recommendation and with friends. My first reaction was "this is really fancy-shmancy" and it was. Nice to see all personnel asiatic and possibly Vietnamese. Service was good and courteous and prompt and the place was possibly 45% full on a Wednesday night. I liked the food but having eaten Chinese the day before... More

The first time I went to this restaurant I considered the food really good, good service, well cooked and a very good experience. After that I went with 12 business people, we took the menus and it was as good as before. This weekend I went with my family, did not take the menu and it tasted like an average... More

I booked days in advance to make sure I was given an outdoor table. The ambiance is great and the menu is simply amazing. Their appetizers are very tasty, specially for a seafood lover like me. I'd recommend the shrimp spring rolls and the soft shell crabs. Awesome for a special occasion.

My wife and I visited Cafe Saigon for the first time on Three Kings Day 2014 (a national holiday in Spain). We had made reservations for 8:30 PM (20:30) via the El Tenedor web-site for a 40% discount on main dishes, appetizers and desserts (but not drinks). It is easy to satisfy the minumum requirements to qualify for the discount.... More

This was a great break from tapas (as much as I love them). The food at Saigon was beautiful. We ordered the "Surtido de entrantes Cafe Saigon" and it was a fabulous sampler of their appetizers. We then ordered two mains: Rape con salsa de coco y lemongrass and Tallarines de arroz con carne de cangrejo al curry. This was... More

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
