Good food and service but a bit pricey

This is my favourite indian restaurant in Madrid ate many times with Indian work mates and we always had good food, service was ok , menu had enough of a selection and chicken biryani was a favourite , a little bit on the expensive side but you get what you pay for I guess

Excellent Indian restaurant hidden away in the heart of Madrid's central business area. The curry was as good as any I have ever had in England (Blackburn, Manchester, London). Passing the restaurant today I see that it is closed permanently. I hope someone rescues it and reopens it or that I have somehow misread the written sign.

Hands down, Annapurna is one of the best Indian restaurants we have ever been. Quality of the food is excellent, great variety too for any type of spicy-level palate...highly recommendable for anybody missing some authentic gastro Indian experience!

We looked for "Annapurna" following the excellent reviews on Tripadvisor and it was definitely a great decision. The service is nice and quick, there's a full and update menu in English. Staff also speak good English. This made us more comfortable and the food was great! We had some lentils, patatha and lamb biryani. All of the dishes were tasty... More

Excellent service but a bit subdued in terms of atmosphere. We were there on a saturday night at about 11.00pm and had expected it to be a bit more buzzy but perhaps it was just a quiet night. Food good but more sauce than lamb in the rogan josh. Expensive but for a one-off for a couple of London expats... More

I made a reservation for a family dinner. We went there and the restaurant was empty, they gave us a terrible table, we complained and no alternative was offered. We left as there are many other friendlier options in Madrid. Restaurants that have different treatment to customers are to be avoided.

Tasty Indian cuisine with good service, view to a nice garden and ample space between the tables. The menu is a bit short but the food is really well cooked.

We love Indian food and we had heard about Annapurna restaurant for too long, so we decided to go and try. The place opens at 21 in the evening (at dinner time, it is open for lunch), I recommend to go at 21:05 for assuring the doors are open. The food is absolutely delicious and the waiters can explain you... More

The Indian restaurant that the concierge wanted to send us to was full and this was second choice but it was a great choice. Food was delicious, great atmosphere, very knowledgable staff. Very successful evening.

Neighborhood Profile
Chamberi
Multi-story residential buildings decorated with ornate balconies line the traditional, quiet, and pretty streets of Chamberí. Humble storefronts and neighborhood taverns are scattered across the lower levels down every block, and here and there, there's a cluster of tables on the sidewalk. It isn't ever crowded, but people are always out, poking into the tiny bakeries, hardware stores, and tobacco shops, or ducking into a bright, unadorned cerveceria to have a coffee or beer by the bar, flip through the paper, and check the sports score. The round Plaza Olavide, where the fairly regular network of streets breaks form, is among the most green and lively spots. Restaurants line its circumference and sought-after outdoor tables fill the center of the plaza, where people relax to the sounds of kids playing and street musicians' tunes.
