Top quality sushi, but somewhat pricey

The sushi is really great and they have the great top quality ingredients: toro (fatty tuna), soft-shell crab, ... The flavors were authentic Japanese, the preparation delicate and careful (all around the same thickness of rice), good service. All excellent, but just a tad pricey...

If you've ever tried to find quality sushi in Madrid that matches the cost of other Spanish restaurants, you're probably still looking. Yes 19 Sushi Bar costs more but having tried many other places, I can say it is worth it. Today I had a beautiful bowl of salmon sashimi on a bed of ice. The sashimi just melted in... More

We ordered to take away. Sushis are good but not extraordinary. For two people it costed almost 70€! For 10-15 pieces per person. Too bad

Great quality, amazing staff and fast lunch service. Our office is very close so we have made this our lunch go to place. The people who work there are particularly nice and flexible.

It was a great experience, excellent service, great food, good wines and beautiful atmosphere. The waiters were helpful, nice and recommended really good dishes. We are a couple that eats lots of sushi, and have experience with sushi restaurants, we were very happy with the quality and the service of this restaurant, especially knowing Madrid isn't a big city for... If you are tired of Mediterranean food and get in the mood for sushi, then 19 Sushi Bar is a good choice. The dishes are solid. The prices (except for the wine), as we were told would be the case for sushi in Madrid, were somewhat higher than other types of meals.

Greeted with a smile, which can be hard to come by in highly touristic cities. Service was quick and incredibly professional. The wine - recommended by Alberto and perfect for what we wanted. The food - delicious. Fresh, full of flavor that exploded in our mouths one flavor after the other leaving a rainbow of sensations sure to please any... More

Excellent service! And the sushi was better than I was expecting for being in the center of Spain. A very nice atmosphere as well. Great for a date or with friends!

This is a quite good quality Japanese food restaurant. Small restaurant located just in the city center. I went with my friends and we ordered different Japanese specialties, everything was good and I would like to say that “Nagiri de Pez Mantequilla” was excellent. However, the price wasn't worth it, it was more than 220€ for 4 people

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
