A step aside, but worth of it...

A small place frequented mostly by local people, at least on a Saturday night, no tourist fuss here, great! Extremely friendly and helpful staff, a little Spanish will help you. I visited this tapas place after some friends recommended it. The food was great and there was plenty of it! The waiter was very friendly even though i don't speak Spanish. I got to try local dishes i haven't had before, but I'm not very fussy with food and I was starving so just asked the waited for his recommentdations... More

After reading the reviews, we decided to eat here instead of an other tapa restaurant. This is not really a restaurant, rather a cafeteria. Tables with stool's and do not expect linen. They offer all kind of tapas and there were good. The chef was nice and helpful. But we did not really appreciated the ambiance/atmosphere. We past a good evening... More

Decided to use tripadvisor to decide where to go to eat and picked La Pincheria. What a great choice. We were a bit new to the dining experience in Madrid but the staff were amazing. They printed out a menu in English and after we ordered came back to say we had ordered too much as we thought it was... More

Great combination of quality and value from bar cold selection through hot dishes to small sweets. Nice atmosphere with plenty of locals. Don't miss this if you like tapas.

Very low-key place with great tapas. We ordered the first couple of courses and then just let our waitress bring us what she thought was good and every dish was great. Small portions so you can sample many dishes. Very reasonable, I think my colleague and I split 8 different tapas plates and a bottle of wine for 22 Euro.

Was here with my family ( from The netherlands) in August 2014! via Tripadvisor we decided to go on a trip to this place and try ourself if it was as good as the recomendations. Location was about 3 km ( 2 Miles) from our hotel but it was truly worth it. The food ( tappas) was pure and great.... More

My friend and I went to La Pinchería based on Trip Adviser reviews and were decently pleased. The prices were great and the staff was wonderful. The tapas were actually tapas-sized, which was excellent (we each got 4). They were tasty but I wouldn't say they were better than tapas that we have gotten at other places. The men working... More

A great place, a little way from the center, but it REALLY deserves a visit. Great selection of pinchos and tapas, for a super affordable price. Perfect service.

Neighborhood Profile
Chamberi
Multi-story residential buildings decorated with ornate balconies line the traditional, quiet, and pretty streets of Chamberí. Humble storefronts and neighborhood taverns are scattered across the lower levels down every block, and here and there, there's a cluster of tables on the sidewalk. It isn't ever crowded, but people are always out, poking into the tiny bakeries, hardware stores, and tobacco shops, or ducking into a bright, unadorned cerveceria to have a coffee or beer by the bar, flip through the paper, and check the sports score. The round Plaza Olavide, where the fairly regular network of streets breaks form, is among the most green and lively spots. Restaurants line its circumference and sought-after outdoor tables fill the center of the plaza, where people relax to the sounds of kids playing and street musicians' tunes.
