Nice food and great daikiri

I was there with my friends last saturday. We previously made a reservation at 2 pm and we sat on a nice table by the window. The food was a bit delayed because the place was full, but it was really good and it was not expensive. I loved my daikiri, although one of my friends found her mojito too... read more

This was one of the best meals I had in Madrid. We had two pastas, Caesar salad, octopus, enchiladas and the tortilla. Everything was absolutely perfect. The range juice I ordered was freshly squeezed which was an added bonus.

If I could give this a zero rating I would. This wasn't our first choice in the area, but we were lured in by an attractive looking restaurant and a Trip Advisor certificate of excellence in the doorway. Kudos firstly to the restaurant for having an English menu. Makes life much easier. That is where the compliments end though. Half... More

We ordered two daikiris and found large pieces of white plastic inside the mix. We requested the tender to change the drinks and they treated us like we were the only ones complaining. All the staff were looking at us as it was our fault. Awful experience. They charged us for both drinks eventually.

Delicious plates with a twist. We had 3 courses each and the fried aubergine with honey was a clear favourite as a starter, and also their lemon pie for dessert is creamy and loaded with lemonzest.

We were wandering around looking for somewhere nice to have some food and drinks and then we found diurno. What a cool and funky place. Staff were so attentive and friendly. Food was lovely and the mojitos even nicer! I would definitely recommend this place.

I visited Diurno after reading a recommendation online, and was not disappointed. All staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, and the overall atmosphere is really cool too. I went for the Brunch option - which is a pretty good bargain at just under 15€ for a juice or cocktail, a main dish (for which there were four or five choices),... More

Tapas were really great. They were so good that they eclipsed the main dishes. If i came back, I would just order many tapas and skip the main dishes. Friendly staff. Great overall experience. Trust me on the tapas...

Staying in Chueca

Neighborhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighborhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
