Nice place. Some good some not

Nice location and good choice, but dessert were terrible. Not cheap for what you get but if you pass by you can find decent tapas. Probably better places in the neighborhood as well

If you're solo, with friends or with that special person, you can't miss the place. Perfect to have an inside special dinner or simply hang out outside.

We were shopping along the Serrano strip and side streets and decided to have lunch . I asked one of the locals where the best local restaurant would be found. She wrote down the name gave directions, and off we,went. What a find ! Granted we were early for lunch in Madrid ..about 12:30 so almost no one about. Decor is... More

I found the restaurant when walking near my hotel. There was an English menu on display which attracted my attention. The food on offer was extensive and diverse. The whitebait and fried egg was very tasty as a starter and the steak was cooked to perfection. All served quickly and piping hot. The staff were very friendly able to make... More

We love this place since decades, having lived here 15 years ago, the good message is: it only changed for its best. Quality and variety of Tapas is tremendous and also there are more fancy places our ( that appear and disappear) El Rincon de Goya maintains superb quality, prices and customers! So, be adviced, the place is goweded during... More

Okay, but nothing special. Good service. Didn't love the food. Good atmosphere. Tried tuna tartar, octopus, stuffed squid and fish with clams and calamari.

I have eaten several times. The food is very good but a little pricey. The service is excellent. Unfortunately, the dish that I always ate there was no longer on the menu, which greatly disappointed me. I had the Crayfish crepes which were very good. Wife had lamb chops which she said were excellent. I'll have to take her word... More

It´s very popular among locals so you need to be awake and don´t expect servers to approach and ask how everything is going; I mean you need to be proactive to be attended. Tapas are great and also raciones (big tapas) are generous. They´ve recently moved a few meters far from the old location.

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
