I felt as if I had become invisible - service was almost non-existent, the for not that great and the cost was expensive. The group in the other section seemed to be OK, they had all the waiters running round. I would have been more welcome in the McDonalds upstairs

Service outstanding, quality of food superb, and to top it all off, we tried the Pacharan as an after-dinner. with a party of 7 we had a great mid afternoon lunch. Don't miss this one when in Madrid.

Tucked away below a corner of the “Plaza Isabel 11” near the “Opera” Metro, this unassuming restaurant was brilliant find. With just enough space to sit outside between the restaurant and the sloping street we read the menu and although there was not a great choice we did realise that the Asador specialised in suckling pig. We had never tried... More

Excellent location, behind the Royal Palace facing the Teato de l'Opera. First quality meat, excellent service and in the center of Madrid active life. Excellent the cochinillo (suckling pig), typical of Segovia, but way better than in Segovia itself, tender and cooked to perfection, with very crunchy skin... mouthwatering (for meat lovers obviously!)... not to mention the price (quarter pig... Beautiful location very central. Service was unfriendly and sneering. I received a ridiculous look and a snort from the maître d when ordering an expensive bottle of wine off the menu (this was a special occasion for me and my partner as younger travellers abroad) Food arrived very quickly and was a massive disappointment. The asparagus with "2 sauces" was... More

We stayed with friends who live in Madrid & invited them to dinner at "their favorite restaurant". They chose Asador Real. Our meal was fabulous. We started with a variety of tapas- Jamon Iberico, Pimientas de Padron, bother ones, olives, Morcilla, tortilla Espanol. We followed with a half of roast pig, and a half of roast lamb. Both outstanding. The... More

You can ignore all the advertising, if someone personally recommends a restaurant it counts for far more. If it isn't good, they know it will reflect on them, so they have something to lose. In the case of Asador Real, the gent who recommended it didn't really have a lot to lose; I sat next to him on a flight... More

During our stay in Madrid we passed this place several times and because it is located in a touristy area, we thought it was an over-priced tourist trap and didn’t pay it any consideration. However, when the restaurant was recommended to us by a local woman, we decided to give it a go. She said it’s her “go-to place" when... More
