Great place for an inexpensive snack or meal

My wife and I went to Cerveceria 100 Montaditos twice during a recent trip to Madrid, and we loved it. Whether you want a full meal or just a snack, there are plenty of options to choose from (well over 100, actually), and the food all tastes pretty good. Most of the small tapas on the menu are... read more

It's a wonderful place to eat something quickly or to eat a lot and it's very cheap! It's also a place where friends hang out and drink beer or wine !

The rude old man who owned it came over and shouted at us to get off the seats. I am extremely disappointed and will tell no one to go there. He lost a lot of business because of his rude act. He said he told us three times to get out when really he didn't.

I tried 100 montaditos during my holiday in Madrid . Well it's cheap, it's fast and it's tasty! I reccomend everything with Alioli sauce and a jarra (about a pint) of tinto de verano. The only think I didn't like was the craning situation... The cerveceria is always packed with people that the staff has not time to clean tables... More

This place is really cheap and has good value for money. You get these small sandwiches which are between 1-1.5 EUR each. The beers and tinto are cheap two. Usually 3 sandwiches are enough for a person. They have free wifi too.

This seems a new experience to Spain... pay at the bar at the start... everything is cheap... and surprisingly good quality... great for lunch at any branch... if you are a solo, unless it's very busy they will bring your food... otherwise you might find your table gone!

A choice of dozen's of small sandwiches, freshly made to order. If you can get a table, you can eat and drink well for less than €10. Delicious and fun.

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
