Fantastic Seafood!

Although teeny, I think that this place is a bit of an institution with great seafood and that's what we got. Busy, with never an empty seat while we were there; there was a solo waitress managing the entire room. Space is tight and they sure weren't the most comfortable deck chairs I've ever sat... read more

A small, 60s style Spanish bar with some of the freshest, best quality ingredients and great wines in Madrid. Not cheap, but not expensive either. Well worth a visit.

If you are looking for a casual, high quality Spanish cuisine, this is the place to come. Their combinations of flavors, exotics dishes and fresh catches of the day will allow you to taste food differently. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Four of us dined at Najera in late December 2013; wandered in without a booking as we were eating early (8.45) and we were not disappointed as it lived up to it's high TA ranking. The service was very good and appropriately friendly, a lovely waitress and pleasant counter staff. The appearance is a little cafeteria-ish but don't be put... More

I read review and went specially, to gove it a try. It is not small, it is tiny. There are probably three tables. And the bar stand. It will fit, maybe 15 people. What's the point shouting on Tripadvisor, if they can not serve people. All reviews about food worth nothing if the place is so small. Owners, there is... More

One of the best restaurants I have ever visited. You have to come here, outstanding wine selection, incredibly tasty food, quality of the seafood is simply perfect. Najera is hard to beat. Take Ramon´s advise with the wine and be ready for a great culinary experience. They also serve the best Gin & Tonic in town.

Sensational!!! Great Spanish food at a reasonable Price. Very much focused on quality of the product, whereby they don’t elaborately cook the food. You realise that the star of the menu is the freshness and quality of dish. Great; “Boquerones en Vinagre”, Green tender grilled asparagus and sensational grilled fish dishes. Didn’t try the meat, but had a look at... More

The food here is exceptional and especially when you see how small their kitchen is. We really enjoyed this restaurante since you can eat outside and get the breeze of the night. All the tapa dishes are very tasty. TIP: my only word of caution is to be careful when ordering seafood since there is no price on the menu... More

Staying in Chamberi

Neighborhood Profile
Chamberi
Multi-story residential buildings decorated with ornate balconies line the traditional, quiet, and pretty streets of Chamberí. Humble storefronts and neighborhood taverns are scattered across the lower levels down every block, and here and there, there's a cluster of tables on the sidewalk. It isn't ever crowded, but people are always out, poking into the tiny bakeries, hardware stores, and tobacco shops, or ducking into a bright, unadorned cerveceria to have a coffee or beer by the bar, flip through the paper, and check the sports score. The round Plaza Olavide, where the fairly regular network of streets breaks form, is among the most green and lively spots. Restaurants line its circumference and sought-after outdoor tables fill the center of the plaza, where people relax to the sounds of kids playing and street musicians' tunes.
