Great atmosphere & choices of menus

I recommend Cocina de San Antón for company visits, customer dinners, and large group dinners. They have both an inside and a covered balcony area available for meal times. Their selection of group menus are very good, with lots of variety. The location is fabulous, near gran vía and on the 3rd... read more

This full service restaurant is located on the 3d floor of the San Anton Mercado. Check out the wrap around deck for drinks or tapas. This is a full service restaurant with a clever menu and very good food. The portions are generous and the service is good. Nicely priced. Dinner for 2 (shared appetizer and shared dessert - 1... I have eaten here before w/a madrileño friend, but this was my first solo lunch. I think that an aside is warranted here--you can shop at the supermercado at ground level, the mercado at 1st floor, and then shoot up to the terrace for your meal. What I like most about this restaurant is the freshness of the ingredients, good... More

This restaurant is a bit special- it's located on top of a market hall with a nice terrace for snacks and drinks and the restaurant finally. The menu variety is good - from tapas to Meat, Fish up to lovely dessert. The food is very tasteful with good quality and fit into the pricing. The portion size of the main... More

Great area at the top of San Anton Market in Cheuco Barrio, good seating area, a little quirky, sofas etc for comfort. We were sat down a while before some one approached us for an order. we had wine and food, the food was ok, the wine was better. Nothing to write home about, though would go again for the... More

The place really looks great. Nice roof terrace with bar and restaurant. Staff is a bit unorganzied... Food however is not recommendable... Do not order the pulpo... It's completely overcooked and tastes disgusting... If you just want to come here for a drink it's nice

wow, what an experience, you enter the Market of San Anton and keep going up the stairs, passing by stalls of fruit, people seating down and enjoying a cana (beer) and the you reach the top floor, open space up to the bar and you immediately have a good vibe, the restaurant is closed by window glass so that you feel... This is cosy restaurant-terrace-lounge. In central Madrid, in Chueca, just few steps away from Fuencarral shopping street. The restaurant is a little bit hard to find and it is on the top floor of Mercado. The mercado is full of high quality food shops and tapas bars and it is very modern and clean. This restaurant is part of 5Jotas-chain... More

Vey nice location on the top of the new Sant Anton market. Food however is deceiving. The menù is very diverse going from tradizional spanish dishes to thai green curries. Would recommend to select local tapas specialties. Prices are reasonable. Recommend to book in advance.

Staying in Chueca

Neighborhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighborhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
