Rooftop bar

Chanced on this lovely foodie market whist wandering the small streets near Chueca. Plenty of small artisan shops over several floors with a bar restaurant on the 3rd floor. Good selection of gins for the ubiquitous G+T. Terrace with indoor seating also. Wide mix of people and good place to go at... read more

This is the 2nd time I visit La Cocina de San Antón.I was here last year and every time it seems to be better. Menus changed so you do not get tired of the same food. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This time I tried the Cotton Candy Ice cream. Delicious! What an amazing place to visit while... More

Went for dinner and it was spectacular! The restaraunt located on the 3rd floor had a great view and an awesome rooftop bar. The food from the appetizers to the dessert was incredible! The service was great and very attentive! If you go, you must try the cotton candy ice cream! Will go again!

One of the best gazpacho in town. At the top of a supermarket is a really great surprise the place looking at the roofs of the Barrio Chueca!

Great place to relax after eating downstairs at the market. Lovely cappuccino and great wine selection. But beware strict management and high prices for food. The tapas on floor 2 has greater selection and better quality.

Cute place but not worth it. The food was not tasty at all, and service was very slow. There are better places.

The interior is indeed charming, and some of the dishes look great, too, but this doesn't outweigh the fact that you have to wait extraordinarlily long for average dishes priced above average. Really, you can dine much better in Madrid. If you want more details and photos, please check out my full review in my blog: http://artfoodwine365.com/?p=1409

We had lunch at the restaurant located on the third floor of this very cool market located in Madrid's Chueca neighbourhood. This restaurant is very popular and so you might have to queue for a bit if you haven't reserved a table. The place though is pretty big, so the wait normally is not too long. We did have a... More

This full service restaurant is located on the 3d floor of the San Anton Mercado. Check out the wrap around deck for drinks or tapas. This is a full service restaurant with a clever menu and very good food. The portions are generous and the service is good. Nicely priced. Dinner for 2 (shared appetizer and shared dessert - 1... I have eaten here before w/a madrileño friend, but this was my first solo lunch. I think that an aside is warranted here--you can shop at the supermercado at ground level, the mercado at 1st floor, and then shoot up to the terrace for your meal. What I like most about this restaurant is the freshness of the ingredients, good... More

Staying in Chueca

Neighborhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighborhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
