Great location let down by poor service

Wanted somewhere special for an anniversary. Decided to give it a try. Arrived at 10 pm booked a table in the restaurant for 10-45 and went to the outside terrace bar for a drink. Ordered two cocktails from the menu. At 10-25 we were told they were not available. Re-ordered and by 10-45, our dinner... read more

We went there on a Subday afternoon and it was very nice because it was a bit more empty. The food was excellent. I had the veggie tacos with quinoa ehich was very good and so was the burger. Also, the sangria there is to die for!

Small but charming market. Several option of thing to buy and/or eat and verfy good restaurants. If you ever visit the top floor restaurant, you should definitely try the risoto pavo.

A really special place which is located in a market style shopping centre. the restaurant is at the top of the building which allows you to watch others shopping. The meal was well cooked and a good portion of slow cooked beef and a duck risotto. Staff were friendly through broken English. The local beer was brilliant

We were missing Asian style spiciness after several weeks in Europe so were very happy to get a chicken curry here. Located on the top of the San Anton Market in Calle Augusto Figueroa (shoe outlet street) the restaurant looks down on the market which has other mainly fast food outlets as well. Outside on the roof terrace, young locals... More

First thing to say is that I can´t believe there is no listing for this place already as it´s located in the Mercado de San Anton in Cheuca. I´ve been going to this place for the last few years and it never disappoints. The staff are friendly, the wine is excellent, although they could do with increasing their selection and... More

This is the 2nd time I visit La Cocina de San Antón.I was here last year and every time it seems to be better. Menus changed so you do not get tired of the same food. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This time I tried the Cotton Candy Ice cream. Delicious! What an amazing place to visit while... More

Went for dinner and it was spectacular! The restaraunt located on the 3rd floor had a great view and an awesome rooftop bar. The food from the appetizers to the dessert was incredible! The service was great and very attentive! If you go, you must try the cotton candy ice cream! Will go again!

One of the best gazpacho in town. At the top of a supermarket is a really great surprise the place looking at the roofs of the Barrio Chueca!

Great place to relax after eating downstairs at the market. Lovely cappuccino and great wine selection. But beware strict management and high prices for food. The tapas on floor 2 has greater selection and better quality.

Staying in Chueca

Neighborhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighborhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
