Good food, nice location

Located on the roof of mercado San Anton. The place is bustling and quite alive. Do make a reservation. Efficient waitstaff. The jamon de bellota from 5J should not be missed. I had the steak tartar which was quite delicious.

On the rooftop of Mercado de San Anton, in Madrid, you can find this nice restaurant. If the weather is good you can stay at the terrace and enjoy the great view to the The food, typical spanish, is delicious.

Nice restaurant, lovely decoration. The terrace is perfect for having a drink with your friends. However, if I had to choose an adjective to describe their food, I would use mediocre.

Beautiful beautiful place but the food was sad, not worthy of a cheap bar. But it was the horrible service that put me off completely. Ask for cutlery and you only get a fork, you have to ask for knife separately? Wait way to long. And you'll be darned if they will smile. And the Crema Catalana is from a... More

After a long day of work, just decided to pop there and ate at the bar... With a draft beer :) They served me wild mushrooms with eggs and the most delicious octopus I've taken here! I was ready to go to bed with a full happy tummy!

We didn't go for food, just drinks on the terrace but it was lovely. Sitting outside in December - priceless! The service was fantastic too.

Nice atmosphere and staff, very well located and serving amazing modern cuisine dishes. Will be returning to try other appealing suggestions in the menu. The grilled octopus with prawns on a bed of mashed potatoes and herbs is splendid.

A good place to visit if you are with a group of 150 people that must be accommodated and served. Decent food with a lovely terrace to have a beer and enjoy the sun (like us on that day). Like everyother place in Spain we got our more than fair share of jamon for starters, a bit of asparagus &... More

Located on the 3rd floor of the Mercado San Anton near the Chueca metro stop with a great bar to get a drink before dinner. The bar was full when my colleague and I arrived for dinner at 8pm but the restaurant had many open tables. Not a typical Spanish restaurant so unless you are after the salteado pulpo (which... We came with a large group (about 25) and it is perfect for groups. The setting, above the bustling marketplace and the presentation of the food, oils, and wines surrounding the tables creates a great feel. The traditional tapas were excellent, as was the wine. The main dinner - choice of pig cheek or salmon - was decent. It's a... More

Staying in Chueca

Neighborhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighborhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
