My niece and I traveled through Spain last summer, starting and ending our trip in Madrid. Based upon a Trip Advisor review, we had dinner at La Vega del Arte our first night. We were both blown away by the food and the service....so much so that we immediately made a reservation for our last night in Madrid two weeks... More

A small and elegant place with creative cooking, served aesthetically with surprising and original tastes. Highly recommended for those who prize quality food over quantity.

A small but warm and friendly cafe style restaurant offering a simple but tasty menu at reasonable prices. Friendly, efficient staff combined with good quality food and speedy service make this a good option for an informal lunch. In an attractive part of Madrid. I would go back again for sure.

We went to this restaurant because it was very close to our rental flat. Service was impeccable. The salads ere excellent. The chorizo, jamon and grilled Iberian pork were all very good. But whatever you order for starter and main courses, be sure to leave room for dessert! The pear soup with mascarpone ice cream and the brownie were out... More

We had dinner at La Vega del Arte with friends and were very satisfied. It happened to be a quiet night because a major soccer game took place the same evening. The restaurant is a bit off the major tourist drag around the Plaza Santa Ana. It has a bar for drinks and tapas and a small dining room with... More

I wanted to really love this small and charming corner restaurant, but there were just too many things that went wrong. We arrived on time for our 9:30 reservation, and were told "two minutes" despite seeing there were plenty of tables free in the dining room. After about 15 minutes (in which they kindly offered us something to drink at... More

We were in Madrid for a long weekend staying in the Retiro Park area and wanted a local restaurant out of the way of the crowds of the city centre on our first night having arrived from the UK. Tripadvisor reviews guided us to this place and what a nice find it was - the restaurant is cosy - only... More

We'd seen good reviews of La Vega del Arte so wanted to give it a try. On a few occasions it was closed but when we did have a dinner there, it was worth the wait. Very friendly service (after every dish we were genuinely asked if we liked it!) and possibly the best food we had in Madrid. Everything... More

Had dinner at La Vega del Arte recently since it was almost directly across from our apartment and had gotten decent reviews. Service was friendly. Food was generally tasty and perhaps a bit more contemporary. Good wines. Overall a very pleasant meal away from the hustle and bustle of most of the plazas in central Madrid.

Saw the positive reviews on Tripadvisor and as we were at the Radisson Blu Prado (a 5-6 min walk) we decided to give La Vega del Arte a try. This was a very good decision. The owner/chef Carlos suggested that we (2 couples) share 6 dishes. As others have already described the food as excellent I'll go with that, but... More
