Great value, nice change of pace

Excellent tacos, at a great price. Small portions that come out quickly allow you to take it easy, and you wont over order. Lovely change from Spanish food which is fairly bland after a while. Staff at the time could have been friendlier.

This is a tiny little restaurant, which means it's cosy but there is a great atmosphere. The tacos were cheap, but packed full of flavour - we kept on ordering until we were full, we also had guacamole which came with totopos on the side. Service was excellent.

We were looking for a light lunch and something different from the usual Spanish food and as we are always on the lookout for real Mexican food rather then the usual TexMex we thought we would check this place out. We walked into a small bar area and asked where the restaurant was, but that was it! We sat as... More

Esta taqueria es lo mejor que hay en Madrid. Staff is always so nice, the food always delicious, as well as the drinks. Awesome tequilas, margaritas and micheladas. And the 'toques' game

We went here for dinner because we were tired of meat, cheese and fried foods...typical tapas. We had a nice experience here. This place is tiny, you order right at the bar. Nothing fancy but it has a good selection of tacos. My wife and I had 7 tacos together, quacamole, water and 3 glasses of red wine. We enjoyed... More

We had a very bad arrival in Madrid for many reasons. It was my birthday and we wanted to celebrate but our day was terrible. They helped us with the parking mashine and they just started talking to us. I told it was our nightmare day and we sat there. But those people at this little place made my day.... More

These folks have two locations, this main one and one that is one block to the west and much smaller. We have eaten at both locations and really enjoyed everything we have tried. For a real treat try the red onion garnish.

As soon as I leave the States, I crave Mexican food. This place is great. Excellent mole, black beans, soft tacos--usually a variety of about 6. Price is good. Nothing fancy. There's also a quick takeout (same owner) on Calle de Fuentes.

The basics: easy to reach from the Opera metro stop. Most of the tacos are ?1.5, some are ?2, and then one or two at ?2.5. Everything else goes up from there. I had the lemon margarita, which was good... probably due to the fact there wasn't much alcohol in it. It was ?6, and for that I expect to... More

Don´t go here if you´re expecting elegant decor. Go here if you want excellent Mexican food at a cheap price. For what it is, 4 stars.

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
