Nice classic restaurant in the center of Madrid. Sometimes you could obtain some type of discount in eltenedor web.

Smart restaurant but not ostentatious. Lovely friendly waiter spoke very good English which helped with the menu and made a great recommendation for the wine. Food was very well presented and offered a good variety. Well worth a visit.

This small excellent neighborhood restaurant, owned and managed by the former chefs of Las Cuatro Estaciones never disappoint. One of the chefs acts as maitre d', receiving diners, then goes into the kitchen to lend a hand. Prices are reasonable, the wine list as well, the service very friendly. Reservations are recommended because it is small and quite popular among... More

Went as a family of four. Despite an empty restaurant and no tables occupied we were denied a place for supper. Arrogance personified. The maitre d' could not get his act together, totally flustered. Had to get the chef to say they were unable to give a table in an empty restaurant. Needless to say we took our custom elsewhere... More

We have had nice evening and dinner in this restaurant. Chef himself has come to table to take the orders. For starters we tried sardines, octopus salad and grilled vegetables. For mane course - a delicious tuna stakes and duck. We have finished dinner with festival desert ( absolutely amazing apple, cheese and chocolate cake peaces). I would recommend this... More

Small bistro-bar, named Duke's, after John Wayne. The service was excellent, tapas were great, and the beer was cold. The clientele seem to be mostly regulars--the owner calls them by name but makes newcomers feel right at home.

Traditional old school restaurant which seems more like a very private members only club. The food is superb ! The service is suberb ! You will feel special when the chef comes out to explain and help you with the menu. My recommendation Steak Tartar and the apple stroudel desert. Its not cheap but its worth your money. Great for... I am an American in Spain. I like Spanish food but some of it is boring and almost always over priced. The Crisis in Spain has caused many restaurants to offer discounts online. I made a reservation with this resturant and was given a discount of 50% off the menu (drinks not included). I went with 2 friends and we... More

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
