Some Spanish friends brought us to Malatesta for dinner in our recent visit to Spain. This is not an Spanish restaurant, but our friends happen to know the owners. Probably because of that, we have a great dinner. We were brought all the house specialities an we shared them all. All good or excellent.

In Boston you can have very good Italian food, but I think they ate either too turistic or too American. Malatesta seems to me real Italian. Flavors are rich but yet soft and well balanced. Impressive. The atmosphere was very lively, a bit loud (but this is Spain ...), but created the right mood to enjoy dinner. Service was good... More

We went to this restaurant last night. It is a busy place on a bustling side street close to Plaza Major. It was busy but we managed to get a table outside. The restaurants next to it were very quiet so this is clearly a popular choice. We had a mixture of Pizza and Pasta which were all good and... More

We had a fantastic meal including starter, main and dessert. The staff were very good and made every effort to make our evening as enjoyable as possible. The food was excellent. The menu had a great selection. All meals were extremely well prepared and arrived hot and at the same time. The staff's english was excellent and Alex was extremely... More

We had a good meal at Malatesta. My wife and I split Tagliatelle Bolognese and a Pizza plus a salad,a bottle of White wine and Bottled water. The pasta, salads and pizza were good. The wine was only 15 euros. Total cost of the meal was 76 euros without a tip. Not cheap for what we ordered but certainly enjoyable.There... More

The food was excellent and I have nothing to say about it. The only thing I hated was the service. The starter was pretty big and we didn't ate it completely because we wanted to be able to eat our pizza who we're coming next. When the server took our plate he said: you don't like it? I think it's... More

We ran into this restaurant (located in a lane off Plaza Mayor) as we walked around the center of Madrid and since we all like Italian food, we decided to try it out for dinner that evening; we were a party of 6 and were able to reserve one of the few outside tables in front of the establishment. This... More

We went here on our final night and had a table booked for 6 people for 9:30pm. When we realised we were running late I called them and asked could we move our booking to 10pm which was no problem at all to them, as long as we had finished by 11:30pm because that's when they close (fair enough, it... We stayed in Madrid for 3 nights and after a very bad meal on the 1st night we accidently found Malatesta and what a find! We booked in for supper the next night and had the most delicious homemade pasta. They spoilt us rotten with lots of Limoncello, our waiter Alex was superb and really looked after us. We very... We were staying at a hotel next door to this place and we wanted to try something other than tapas. We were glad we did. I unfortunately made the mistake of ordering pizza. It lacked flavour and freshness. My sister and father had some spaghetti dishes. The octopus spaghetti was out of this world. Perfectly al dente and soo tasty.... More
