I went for lunch, I had pizza and a starter (with mozarella, eggplant, etc) and a glass of wine. Very tasty food, authentic italian pizza, nice atmosphere, reasonable prices. It's a place you'll have a decent meal.

Malatesta has outdoor seating in a bustling street just off Calle Mayor in Madrid. The atmosphere is great, the waiting staff very attentive and friendly too. The food is delicious, I had beef fillet which was cooked to perfection and presented well. The desserts were equally high quality, and I recommend the chocolate and almond cake. Overall a great meal... More

I past by Malatesta by chance and decided to change plans and have some Italian food. What a great decision! Everything was perfect: both dinning rooms are very special (I was recommeded to go donwstairs, as it was too hot outside). Upstairs is a tile decorated (originally old) and downstairs is like a brick cellar. The food is just excellent:... More

I had such a hankering for some good, homemade pasta, which led me to this restaurant (thanks, Trip Advisor!). The prices were definitely high but the pasta was amazing. I was a little surprised that "pesto" meant a red pesto that did not taste much like basil, but that seems consistent with what I've experienced elsewhere in Spain. I highly... More

So I visited this restaurant with a couple of friends three weeks ago. We ordered some salad and, even though we went there for dinner, some pasta. 1. The salad was a standard salad with lettuce, olive oil, olives, pepper, cucumber and corn and I really enjoyed it. The ingredients were freshly picked and the seasoning was adequate. 2. I... More

Some Spanish friends brought us to Malatesta for dinner in our recent visit to Spain. This is not an Spanish restaurant, but our friends happen to know the owners. Probably because of that, we have a great dinner. We were brought all the house specialities an we shared them all. All good or excellent.

In Boston you can have very good Italian food, but I think they ate either too turistic or too American. Malatesta seems to me real Italian. Flavors are rich but yet soft and well balanced. Impressive. The atmosphere was very lively, a bit loud (but this is Spain ...), but created the right mood to enjoy dinner. Service was good... More

We went to this restaurant last night. It is a busy place on a bustling side street close to Plaza Major. It was busy but we managed to get a table outside. The restaurants next to it were very quiet so this is clearly a popular choice. We had a mixture of Pizza and Pasta which were all good and... More

We had a fantastic meal including starter, main and dessert. The staff were very good and made every effort to make our evening as enjoyable as possible. The food was excellent. The menu had a great selection. All meals were extremely well prepared and arrived hot and at the same time. The staff's english was excellent and Alex was extremely... More

We had a good meal at Malatesta. My wife and I split Tagliatelle Bolognese and a Pizza plus a salad,a bottle of White wine and Bottled water. The pasta, salads and pizza were good. The wine was only 15 euros. Total cost of the meal was 76 euros without a tip. Not cheap for what we ordered but certainly enjoyable.There... More
