Very good service, nice ambient and delicious food

Actually, for me it's always difficult to find good italian restaurants outside of Italy. However, thanks to trip advisor, I have met this beautiful restaurant in last minute when I was trying to find a nice pizzeria for dinner with our business group. Finally we found this place which delighted... read more

Located just moments from Puerto de Sol this wonderful restaurant will not disappoint. A very accomodating staff serving delicious Italian dishes. We were there last week with friends and shared a variety of dishes; each was excellent. If you go make reservations and do not miss ordering the vegetable strudel. It is out pf this world! Downstairs eating should also... More

Had pizza and pasta dishes here recently and was not over impressed. I did not find the staff to be helpful, such as asking if i wanted tomato sauce with my dish or asking if i wanted ground pepper or parmesan. It was a case of get them in and out as quickly as possible.

Nice food, BUT, when we were seated they suggested the "Special" which appeared on a chalkboard above the bar. See attached photo. Burratti e pizza E16, which we ordered with some wine. When we got the bill we were charged E16 for the burrata and another E16 for the pizza. The "special" was totally misleading in the cost, basically double... More

The downstairs had a Great authentic atmosphere. The staff was pleasant and knowledgable and everyone's pasta meal was delicious. The burrata was tender, the vegetable strata was beautiful, The baked parmesan was amazing. The dessert topped off w limoncello. We are going back for the pizza! Don't miss this restaurant

We got the recommendation from our hotel and had a wonderful dinner there. The location is easy enough to find. Service was friendly and attentive, as well as reasonably fast for a packed evening. The food was simply EXCELLENT! The antipasti were in good portions and the pizzas really were a highlight. I would highly recommend it if you end... More

We were a group of 8 having a quick lunch (sadly). We all agreed the pasta was extremely good. Would have loved to stay longer and taste the tiramisu!

When looking for a pleasant place to eat when visiting the old -Madrid area, we came along this restaurant. The "menu del dia" looked very attractive and it was indeed. We had the tune-salad and afterwards the fish-of -the-day. Excellent preparation and quick and friendly service. We ended with a "gelati" and coffee. All this for 25,00 Euro for two.We... More

Very reasonable for what you would pay in Madrid. All the food we ordered was delicious. Service was a bit slow in the beginning but nothing to complain about. Creme caramal dessert was better than cheesecake

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
