Best Italian pizza in Madrid so far!

Being Italian, I'm very harsh when it comes at judging a pizza. However, this restaurant was very very good! The pizza excellent!

Everything was delicious.. Had the baked provolone to start, followed by chicken saltimbocca, husband had gnocchi bolognese. Hand made gnocchi was perfectly cooked. Followed by grappa and limoncello. Nice outdoor ambience. Great value for money. Just like being in Italy.

The pasta and risotto were very tasty, although it came in quite a small portion. The provided service was very unpersonal, with a "be done with it"-mentality.

We had a very good experience at this restaurant. Really good Italian pizzas! Friendly and good service from the staff. Will certainly be back at this restaurant next time we're in Madrid.

After long walks on madrid streets and a visit in Prado museum we decided to taste the cusine of Malatesta, we found a nice table on the street and enjoyed the afternoon. We order a salad and a plate of carpaccio, both very tasteful and prepared us for the following. As an italian restaurant we didn't expect less in their... More

We found this place via recommendations on Trip Advisor whilst in Madrid when we wanted a change from traditional Spanish fare. The restaurant is busy and popular - reserve in advance if you can, or if not, go there about 7pm and ask if you can reserve a table for when they open at 8pm. We were seated in the... More

I have been many times to this Restaurant and the quality of the Pizza is one of the best in town. Pasta and the Burrata are always fresh and very good as well. Don't forget to taste the superb TIRAMISU!!!!!

Pasta was lovely and fresh and sauces simple but tasty. Accompanied by a nice bottle of Tuscan red made for an enjoyable dinner. I don't expect or like hurried service but this was a little on the slow side considering our meal had been served before our wine arrived. Overall all ok but I would not rate it as unmissable.

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
