Established in 2007, Camoati is a young vibrant owner-run Argentinian Bistro in the heart of Madrid's "Los Austrias". Since opening we have quickly become the calm and relaxed place where the locals enjoy their lunches, dinners or just simply a tea or a coffee with family & friends. Far from being a typical Argentine Parrilla (Steak House), we offer cocktails, tea & cakes, tapas, home made pastas, fish and of course, great steaks. Our most popular dishes include Steak Tartare, Red Tuna Tataki, Sirloin Steak Rossini (shitake cream sauce & foie gras) and Argentina's most popular cut, the Thin Skirt (entraña de ternera). The early bird offer (20% discount for dinner at 20hr) is becoming very popular among our foreign customers. Also, with a selection of board games such as chess, monopoly and backgammon , our tea time has gained many new fans. Camoati is liking being at home with friends.

Ate here twice June 2014. Obviously I thought it was good enough to merit returning. A nice little neighborhood bistro. Food good but not great. Service very good. Excellent price vs performance. I like it.

Third night in Madrid. Food just OK. Service mediocre. My wife's food came later than other people in group. We are New Yorkers, and use to good steaks. The steak choice was limited and the beef tough.

Hello Robert, Sorry you feel this way about Camoatí. Our meat is obviously not New York or North American Style, we serve Argentinian cuts, which are different in taste and texture. In regards to the service, we must say that in our experience, the language barrier sometimes makes communication a bit choppy and can be misunderstood for mediocre service, although... More

Cozy environment enriched by warm and original interiors. Good food - fresh and well prepared, ranging from argentinian to a few Italian specialities. Definitely worth a stop!!!

I love it. We had dinner twice there during our 3-day stay in Madrid. Excellent value. We both like grilled salmon and I also beef tartar. The people there are so nice and cheerful. It's fun having dinner there.

Excellent food, very good music, very good service (they also speak English). It's downtown, so very hard to find parking. Prices: roughly 20 euros per person without starters and glass of wine (I suggest the red).

Vas T , thanks for your time in shaering your experience in camoati. We are glad to know that everithing was perfect for you, food music & service. but that's the best beef meat you can expect to eat, and at this price that's a steal. And I should not tell the secret, because given the size of this restaurant, i don't want too many people to find it. I'm glad it's a bit hidden.

Great food and wine, followed the tripadvisor reviews and took a chance and were very pleased with the result. Well worth reserving since the place was packed by the time we left. Really good starters, help with our rather bad Spanish meant we chose the giant steak speciality and some very nice beer and wine. Will happily come back again... More

We read the excellent reviews of this restaurant on TA, and they did not steer us wrong. The food was fresh, creative, and tasty. The server was very kind to explain the menu items. We speak some Spanish, and she spoke some English. We figured it out. I had the Caprese Salad and Spinach Ravioli. Amazing!

Staying in La Latina

Neighborhood Profile
La Latina
La Latina is a charming neighborhood with two unique personalities. At first glance, it’s distinctly old-world, with narrow streets weaving a maze among charming stone buildings in sunny, bright colors like yellow and pink. The other side of La Latina is characterized by a young population and a bohemian vibe, as evidenced by a dynamic and evolving selection of new bars, shops, coworking spaces, and other businesses popping up in the area. In the northern part of the neighborhood, the Cava Alta and Cava Baja streets constitute the tapas center of Madrid, where each age-old restaurant serves up distinctive specialties like huevos rotos and patatas bravas. Locals have come here for generations to while away hours over drinks and tapas with friends. On Sundays and public holidays, the streets to the south of La Latina metro station transform into a giant open-air market full of locals sifting through tent after tent of art, apparel, and antiques. Any day of the week, the intriguing blend of the traditional and the hip make the streets of La Latina worth exploring.
