The Orixe was a disappointing experience: a clearly popular restaurant that promised fresh Galician cuisine. That is a novelty to us, so thought to give it a try. We asked for a table - our first mistake. The main, open area of the restaurant was full so after a bit of a wait they found us a corner spot in... More

Outstanding tapas, many outside of the norm. Very friendly and attentive staff holds it together in the midst of the surging crowd.

After several days in Madrid we were looking for some lighter food and vegetables. Orixe fit the bill perfectly. Excellent offs Catalan style. From the wine steamed fresh choizo to the roasted vegetable and wonderful gazpacho the food was a treat. Wonderful attentive service and great atmosphere.

We started the evening here and weren't disappointed. The food was great and really good quality, and, although there was a cover charge, it was worth it for a great taster gazpacho and freshly baked bread!! The only one downside was that the service was a little abrupt and the sit down meals were a little more expensive than other... More

I found this restaurant rather by coincidence on 2011 when walking along "Cava Baja" and stopping on every Taperia. I liked the decoration and the general atmosphere of the place but it was really the food and the service what impressed me. A great selection of the best tapas and a menu full of succulent "Raciones" followed by an ice... More

Great service, lovely setting and food was above average. Staff were also great, helpful with language barrier. Not disappointed .

This restaurant is just wonderful..... My handsome boyfriend and I ate in here to celebrate our first time having sex. We are prawns as an afrodesiax and then remembered it isn't prawns. Dum dum dummmmm! But anyway absolutely fantastic service. The waiter (not owner) is slightly arrogant but we will blame that on his age for now. The owner speaks... More

While I've already reviewed Orixe, I'm writing again, because I've been back more than once since then, most recently in February. To begin with, I'm puzzled —sort of— by the unfavorable reviews, though from my work in tourism here in the US, I'm familiar with the capriciousness of some people's complaints. There seems to be an annoying two percent crowd... More

We ordered salad with tuna, very oily, lettuce not fresh, tuna mushy with bad taste. Paella for two did not clearly state 18E Each, very expensive for dry rice, over cooked shrimp, not much fish or chicken and no sausage. Manager hovers over room and staff making it not enjoyable. Do not recommend.

This place was disappointing. The tapas were very breaddy. Nothing was particularly good or bad, just very ordinary. At these prices we were hoping to find a more interesting, enjoyable dining experience. We didn't find it at Orixe, and there is no reason to go back here.
