Description: Ex librisAt Ex libris we offer traditional food with fresh products garnished with the chef’s creation. It gives our dishes a modern look without forgetting our Mediterranean roots.Fresh garden products: vegetables and legumes are a great addition to our meat and fish. A great selection of hot and cold starters, carefully and lovingly prepared by chef team, will make your meals, whether during leisure or business very pleasantWe believe a pleasant and cosy setting in a central location (Chueca – Gran Vía) is the necessary ingredient to come back for a meal again. We make an effort for that to happen. This is accompanied by the meticulous service provided by the sommelier and his team who will also be happy to help you, if you like, in selecting wines.

The food is terrible for the price we paid! Tried the duck confit which is dry as fxxk and the cod is sour! Service average!

Good Morning Sir Do you really think that this restaurant is a trap? With all the good and very good reviews we have on this page and other opinion pages (more than 3,000), it would be difficult to deceive people. Before you say so, I think we should stop to think that behind every business there are many families who... More

The restaurant is on a quiet street. They offer a fixed menu for 30 euros. It may seem pricey but this is first class establishment with linen and new plates and setting for each serving. The servings are tapa size but the variety is very good and they are about the size of 2-3 tapas. You can make reseat ions... More

A quiet air of desperation is tangible at Ex Libris. Maybe is the ambitious menu that the kitchen can't deliver. Maybe is the jaded waitstaff. Or maybe is the cafeteria food presented as fine dining. Me and my girlfriend were there on a Friday night. We arrived at 9 PM to an empty room and were offered a table in... More

Dear Pablo, We really feel sorry and very unhappy when a customer leaves Ex Libris insatisfied but it seems that your review is excessive. Do you really believe that if everything was as you said we would have such good reviews on online restaurant guides. We work hard in order to move forward with this restaurant which is not easy... Had menu, time etc confirmed by email and later in the day was emailed a form which i had to complete along with a scanned copy of my credit card and passport with a deposit of €50 to pay- a... More

Dear Triona, We feel very sorry about your upset with Ex Libris for our cancellation policies but I will explain you why we act this way. Last night February 4th we had a dinner for 15 people without deposit because they made the reservation on sunday, so the banks were not open, and they said thatk and they said that... More

Stayed at the Lusso Infantas Hotel and ate here on two nights. The first night we had the tasting menu which was superb and at 50% off a real bargain. Star of the meal was the butter fish with tempura veg, delicious. The other courses were good too. The second time we dined we went for the a la carte... More

Don't let this restaurant's location in a tiny hotel lobby sway you from venturing in. Chef delivers solidly executed cuisine, like the rich duck confit in a tart berry sauce. The price tag will please as well

I've been several times to Ex Libris during a period of 4 years. Their sampling menu has always been excellent, coupled with an attentive and kind service. In the light of other negative reviews, it might have helped my appreciation that the restaurant was never busy when I was there (always for dinner, and always early).

I went to this restaurant with a group of 5 friends in the month of April 2012. It was the seventh or eighth time I repeated this place, but I wont go back anymore. (I live in Madrid) It was a dinner daily and the restaurant was at half capacity occupancy. They took 10 minutes to take note, and 40... More

Dear Customer, First of all I would like to apologize about the inconveniences we have caused. Having read the reviiews good and bad I went with an open mind. The bad reviews are more accurate. We had the tasting menu which sounded great but every course was a disappointment. Hardly above canteen food, with that mass produced pre-prepared feel. The meat course was barely tepid. The chocolate brownie was tasty if not gourmet. The best bit was... More
