I spent a couple of dinners here to get great inexpensive food and drinks, and watch the world cup. The atmosphere is super cool and relaxed. No one rushes you, or hovers, but they are always ready to serve you and attend to your needs when you need it. This place is in a lovely part of the city as... More

I thought that I should describe how bad the food was our how slow the service was. But instead I say, go out thru the door to the left and then first left. Its about 100 meters and you are at mercado sant miguel. Have a glas of wine or a beer and enjoy cheese, ham, seafood, tapas or whatever... More

We stopped in to Gran Café our first night in Madrid. We were tired and just looking for a light meal and a drink. We ordered a glass of wine, a cerveza, and three tapas, all of which were delicious. We enjoyed the food and atmosphere so much that we stopped in for nightcaps on two more nights. On the... More

Order the potatoes w/ paprika and the Brie w/ strawberries. We went back twice in our short trip! Yum! The waitress seems to work the entire place and is very good at coming back when you need her to without being asked!

Amazing food! Had the plate of 6 pinchos and breaded brie with spicy strawberry sauce. Reasonably priced, english speaking waitress and great sangria made as a cocktail. Corny 90s music kept it fun in a quiet almost irish furnished pub. Casual style and great food. Would recomend to anyone that will listen.

This is one of our regular places for traditional spanish tapas or raciones. The servers speak english, so its great for visitors as well. The service can be a little slow but the food is very well done. We havent really liked their menu del dia as much as we like picking raciones and sharing them over dinner. They have... More

Just around the corner from Plaza Mayor it was a great place to rest my feet and check my email, NFL news and my Facebook. For 12 euros we had 3 pints and some chips. It wasn’t the best beer in the world and the chips were only slightly better than average. I was glad we stopped in and got... More
