When we arrived we were greeted by a gentleman outside who confirmed our reservation then welcomed us in to a tastefully decorated and small restaurant. The food was of the molecular gastronomy sort: unusual combination of foods and ingredients. Each course was an exotic creation with outstanding presentation including tremendous attention to detail. The staff was very friendly and helpful... More

Excellent meal, amazing presentation, and after a rough start by not being acknowledged at all for several minutes after entering, very personable service. The upstairs Sergi Arola Gastro is apparently closed until April 2015 so when we offered a table at his more casual downstairs SOT, we decided to give it a try. A very comfortable, well designed and appointed... More

We loved every dish ordered from appetizers to dessert, literally we liked our plates. The only regrets we couldn't try everything from menu.

Even when he opened first in Madrid at the Hotel Miguel Angel, his capacity of not being up to standard was one of his downfalls. I simply do not understand how a guide as prestigious as Michelin still rates him. He has a serious problem maintaining the level and quality of his food. It's as if he didn't care. When... More

At 2-star Michelin guide, this restaurant delivered amazing courses with polite and professional staff. We had the wine pairing menu at 200 euros pr person and a night to remember. Top notch food and a nice and calm interior. Round tables make you connect better to your party. Highly recommended.

We were fortunate to eat at The Chef's Table and I can only describe our experience as the meeting place of art and science - of Cirque de Soleil and Michelin - an entertainment and a culinary outing of world-class standard. Food - exquisite. Wine - fascinating. Service - attention to detail and friendly. I have eaten in many amazing... More

Thank you for a wonderful meal. We have eaten in many Michelin star restaurants in UK and Europe and last night was one of the best. Fully merits 2 star status! Service very efficient without being invasive - attention to detail by the kitchen was something special! Kind Regards Gordon Shaw

Staying in Chamberi

Neighborhood Profile
Chamberi
Multi-story residential buildings decorated with ornate balconies line the traditional, quiet, and pretty streets of Chamberí. Humble storefronts and neighborhood taverns are scattered across the lower levels down every block, and here and there, there's a cluster of tables on the sidewalk. It isn't ever crowded, but people are always out, poking into the tiny bakeries, hardware stores, and tobacco shops, or ducking into a bright, unadorned cerveceria to have a coffee or beer by the bar, flip through the paper, and check the sports score. The round Plaza Olavide, where the fairly regular network of streets breaks form, is among the most green and lively spots. Restaurants line its circumference and sought-after outdoor tables fill the center of the plaza, where people relax to the sounds of kids playing and street musicians' tunes.
