Quiet street, good food and reasonable price

La Mecca seemed a little less touristy Thant nearby places, but they had menus printed in English, so they must be used to tourists. Food was delicious and fast. We sat on the patio in the sunshine and there were many people queuing for the outside tables.

The restaurant was recommended by my hotel which was close by. I liked the lively atmosphere and the friendly service, but the food was not very special. I ordered the hamburger.

We ate at La Mucca three times, each time tasting something new, we ate early but had to promise we'd be out by 9:30 (we did not have reservations), the service was perfect, the food was perfect, the atmosphere was delightful. F

The food is amazing. Must try the truffle pizza! This place is always packed so make sure you have a reservation. Wonderful atmosphere and very popular with the locals.

happened to wander in after walking around looking for a spot to eat on a trip to Madrid and wasn't disappointed. Diverse menu options with large portions for the price kept the bill total in check. The sangria was a little sweet for my taste but the hip atmosphere made it taste better. Get there early so you are assured... More

Me and my wife stayed in Madrid for one night, we decided to give a try to lamucca. The restaurant was busy, but had a great design, food, environment and not so expensive for the dinner. We loved the restaurant very much.

Staying in Malasana

Neighborhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighborhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
