It was the best tortilla i have had in Spain. Service was also good and the stuff was very friendly. If you want to taste a good example of tortilla i can strongly recommend. It is far more different than the ones you can find in bars or restaurants. But i have to say that it is not cheap ;)... More

This was a fun experience. First of all, you're kind of eating in a cave, which was cool. They don't have a menu - they have Spanish tortillas, and that's pretty much it. Our server was very nice - didn't speak a word of English (but he patiently put up with my limited, broken Spanish). The tortillas are incredibly filling... More

One day, I will actually make Spanish tortilla...but it seems that an omelet, always just tastes like eggs. Here, the flavors explode. The atmosphere is fun and casual, perfect for late night cravings. It's actually been some years since I visited, but I am thrilled to see it's still opened. If visiting Madrid, don't miss it!!!

Near the Plaza San Miguel. Like a cave inside with drawings on the wall. Service somewhat chaotic but friendly. We had a delicious Spanish-style tortilla here. Would definitely go again.

The tortillas were terrific. We had the classic. It is very well prepared and tasted great. The second part of the experience is sitting on little stools in rooms that were originally caves. The old world ambience is enhanced by the artwork. We were in the Yogi and BooBoo room - really! SaIf this is your thing, or you drink... More

Good old fashioned tapas in a casual atmosphere underneath the Plaza Mayor. No menu, just 5 or 6 choices and the best Spanish Omelette you will ever taste. Take some friends, order 1 of everything and wash it down with a jug of Sangria.

We’ve been coming here for years! The first time I was here was 1997, when my wife introduced me to the place. She was visiting here maybe five years before that! This is our favorite cave bar beneath the Plaza Major, always the first place we eat when we’re back in Madrid. Friendly service, great tortillas and sangria. Perfect for... More

I am a local and everytime friends come visiting Madrid I would take them to the Mesón de la Tortilla. It's close to everything, right below Plaza Mayor, five minutes from the Royal Palace, Puerta del Sol, etc. so it is always a good option. Much less expensive than the Mercado San Miguel nearby, which I absolutely recommend visiting, but... More

We were only in Madrid three nights and we ate here twice if that tells you anything! The tortilla espanola is fantastic and cooked to perfection! I recommend ordering the mushrooms and the chorizo to go along with the tortilla. Oh, and a cold San Miguel!
