Enjoy different Mediterranean dishes with innovative touches and the highest quality raw produce. The culinary philosophy of La Capilla de La Bolsa is to process food as little as possible to ensure that it does not lose any of its flavour. Seasonal vegetables and seafood include gratinée sea urchins with a touch of cava wine, or our marinated red partridge salad served on a bed of lettuce leaves. The main dishes are also exquisitely prepared. Choose from sword fish and avocado carpaccio served with prawn vinaigrette, traditional farmyard chicken in an apple, pepper and nut sauce, or grilled fillet of sirloin steak and grilled fillet mignon with pepper sauce. The menu is completed by a selection of hand-crafted desserts, where you will find highly original dishes such as large Szechuan-peppered strawberries with bourbon vanilla ice cream. Also available is a wide selection of both national and international wines and cigars.

NYE in Madrid. Looking for a nice place to have dinner and there were a few places only with availability. Booked online on the 29th of December via gomadrid.com and were certain that we have a table booked. The booking was for 22.30 and we arrived at the restaurant on time. At the beginning they told us that they can't... More

Party for 2 / Didn't like the experience, from the start (not seated in the main church - apparently fully booked but when we left, 1 1/2h later, 5 tables at least were still empty!) to the end (credit card didn't work). In between poor service (junior and not experiented) and average food taste . To forget!

I have been here thanks to a groupon voucher. The restaurant is very beautifull. Staff is very kind. Violist is lovely. But the food.of the groupon menu wasn't like their other dishes i think. Ok, it stays a groupon menu. But for a restaurant with such a good rating.. don't kill your restaurant with this business! So i give them... More

Looked for a nice place to have our last meal in Madrid while vacationing. Had lots of flavorful meals at sidewalk restaurants throughout Spain and wanted something special for our last night in Madrid. This restaurant was listed under "top places to eat", unfortunately found the place to be somewhat "pompous". Decor seems like they're expecting a large wedding party... More

When I arrived at Madrid, I checked which restaurant will be the best for a Thursday night, and La Capilla de la Bolsa appeared on the Top 3. Indeed you don't go there only to have a dinner, but to watch and listen an incredible opera show acting by 3 amazing singers and a pianist. The 3 singers were just... More

Four couples in Madrid for a break. Were persuaded to eat there by the lovely surroundings. That was a mistake. Most expensive meal in Madrid and most disappointing. No atmosphere, unfriendly staff and lukewarm food. Main courses come with nothing - no potatoes or vegetables - just a piece of fish or pork - when asked they offered salad. When... More

The first thing that strikes you is how beautiful the room is. An old chapel that lifts the spirit right from the start. Formal silver service. White linen. The food is also high art. my visit was a multi course conference dinner and seemed value for money. Definitely a special occasion meal.

I was there with my couple. It has an amazing decoration. The food was good, not incredible, but was correct. A very polite and kind staff. The only problem for us were prices, expensive. Anyway the place is totally recommend.

Came across this restaurant by chance whilst out shopping on Saturday afternoon and booked for 9.30pm - really glad we did. We hadn't done any research on where to eat before our weekend visit so just had a look at menus as we walked around. We were fairly early diners (by Spanish standards) but took our time and enjoyed a... More

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
