Beautiful food, small portions

This place is relatively expensive, and you definitely need and appetizer as well as the main course or you're going to leave hungry. The food was very good, and excellent service.

From the jamon and fan as starters through the Jake for main and a chocolate mint dessert, every course was delicious. Friendly service, discreet but present, all round recommendation.

This was recommended to us and it didn't let us down. The restaurant is so atmospheric and romantic with comfortable seating and nice lighting. A good range of Spanish classics on the menu and a reasonably priced wine list. The service was excellent even though they didn't speak much English (and us very limited Spanish!). Lots of nice little touches... More

beautifull place, great food and unbelievable selection of wines! Friendly staff, nice atmosphere. The place was full during lunchtime, it's not cheap but definitely worth the price.

We were fortunate to have been able to grab lunch before catching a flight out of Madrid. The food was excellent and worth a trip back. Try the suckling pig for something really special.

The food at La Parra is nearly as good as the previous reviews would have you believe. The ambience too is cosy and comfortable. Why then have I only awarded the restaurant three stars? Simply because of some service shortcomings that were annoying at the time and could so easily have been rectified by an apologetic or even explanatory word.... More

Just back from 48 hours in Madrid. Gathering with friends or business lunch? this is a super option. The place is cosy and staff are very friendly, but has that certain something that elevates it to far above your average restaurant in Madrid. We were introduced by local friends and we now make it a sure shot when we are... More

This is how my American parents would rate this lovely, warm feeling restaurant. Soft music in the background, candle light and a corner table made for a relaxing setting. We found the staff to be attentive and willing to guide us through the menu. The hake and steak were both prepared and presented well. Wine recommendation was perfect. An excellent... More

Took a large party of 15 people here for dinner and we were all impressed. The atmosphere is great, a bit like dining in someones admittedly large home dining room. I tried the mixed tempura starter and then the Beef steak, which was amazing but pretty large. Would definitely come back here.

Staying in Chamberi

Neighborhood Profile
Chamberi
Multi-story residential buildings decorated with ornate balconies line the traditional, quiet, and pretty streets of Chamberí. Humble storefronts and neighborhood taverns are scattered across the lower levels down every block, and here and there, there's a cluster of tables on the sidewalk. It isn't ever crowded, but people are always out, poking into the tiny bakeries, hardware stores, and tobacco shops, or ducking into a bright, unadorned cerveceria to have a coffee or beer by the bar, flip through the paper, and check the sports score. The round Plaza Olavide, where the fairly regular network of streets breaks form, is among the most green and lively spots. Restaurants line its circumference and sought-after outdoor tables fill the center of the plaza, where people relax to the sounds of kids playing and street musicians' tunes.
