Delicious!

I am still full from this amazing dinner. My daughter and I ordered 4 apps/tapas and were worried we would still be hungry. This was not the case at all. Everything was delicious and we could barely touch the last dish when it arrived. The portions are big, the price is really reasonable and... read more

I cannot rate this eating experience more highly. not only was the food wonderful, the service was extremely friendly and the venue warm and welcoming. We ate here twice and both meals managed to be exceptional delivering time after time, fantastic and unique Tapas unlike anything I've ever eaten before - every dish was a delight! They also made a... More

Go here if you're sick of jamon and potatoes. This restaurant is unbelievable. Our waiter was Anderson and he was incredibly friendly and attentive. We tried the fried eggs, the goat cheese salad, the guac (5 stars) and octopus (which I don't even normally like). Was reasonable for how fresh and eclectic the food was.

My friend and I stopped into Gastromaquia for dinner one weekend evening. The servers were to a person attractive and friendly, and the menu was extensive. We left satisfied and the price point is right. The lighting needs to be rethought, and no dish really stands out. But if you're looking for a place where you can get a decent... More

We booked a table here as it is a small cosy restaurant. The staff are young, friendly and eager to please. Sara was our server and she helped us choose our tapas so we didn't over order. We had porcini croquettes, baked goats cheese with honey and a paella with lobster. All of which were very good and cooked to... More

Excellent food, frendly staff. Place is relatively small and simply decorated. Servive was great. We (company of four) went with waiter's reccomendations and there was no single failure while trying almost entire spectr of menu selections. Wine reccomendation was good. Overall, very enjoyable experience with very reasonable price. Will come back anytime we're in Madrid.

This is a casual, friendly little restaurant, that provides food with a very nice twist, for a very reasonable price. The two of us shared 3 starters and one main: the guacamole was excellent (although served a little too cold) with banana chips. The tuna tartar was amazing, with just a taste of mild curry. As for the tikka masala... More

We enjoyed this small restaurant, with an interesting menu. The octopus and the asparagus were particularly wonderful. I concur with other reviewers that the service was slow. Plates came out of the kitchen in fits and starts.

Staying in Chueca

Neighborhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighborhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
