We've sampled a couple of tapas (mini burgers with foie gras among others) and they were all very good. The staff was friendly and eating and drinking while standing has a certain appeal. A great place to try out - the prices and quality are there.

We had two great visits here, coming firstly for pintxos at the bar and then for dinner in the restaurant at the back. Both times we enjoyed everything we had immensely. The pintxos were great, as were the Basque risottos we had in the restaurant. The house white wine was excellent. Value for money is good and service was friendly.... More

Came here on recommendation of a friend who lives in La Latina. The place was rammed with spaniards (perfect for practicing the language) and the food was so so tasty. The locals love the pintxos de tortilla and pintxos foix (I think it was called) but I had bacalao (cod) which was amazing (but a little rich.) The staff are... More

Fantastic place to have elaborated tapas according to the new Spanish cousin. The wines are very good and the prices not bad. If you go to La Latina, this is one of the places you should miss. It is not in the “official” path, but is where the Spaniards go. Do not miss the Tortilla Caramelizada or the Carrilladas

Nice atmosphere and good food away from touristy area. We had a mixture of dishes to share. Price and quality met nicely here.

We only had drinks but the service was good, and the place was jumping with locals who were all eating the tapas which looked really good.

Quick food as we were in a rush to see a show. They forgot a dish or two and the drinks were Ok. The mini Chicken cutlets dish was fantastic!

Terrific place to start a tapas route - we had pintxos here 3 different times, it was that good. It was quiet the first time (early evening) with only a couple of people in the place. The other times we were here - it was PACKED! And a lot of fun with friendly local people too. We couldn't try everything... More

Staying in La Latina

Neighborhood Profile
La Latina
La Latina is a charming neighborhood with two unique personalities. At first glance, it’s distinctly old-world, with narrow streets weaving a maze among charming stone buildings in sunny, bright colors like yellow and pink. The other side of La Latina is characterized by a young population and a bohemian vibe, as evidenced by a dynamic and evolving selection of new bars, shops, coworking spaces, and other businesses popping up in the area. In the northern part of the neighborhood, the Cava Alta and Cava Baja streets constitute the tapas center of Madrid, where each age-old restaurant serves up distinctive specialties like huevos rotos and patatas bravas. Locals have come here for generations to while away hours over drinks and tapas with friends. On Sundays and public holidays, the streets to the south of La Latina metro station transform into a giant open-air market full of locals sifting through tent after tent of art, apparel, and antiques. Any day of the week, the intriguing blend of the traditional and the hip make the streets of La Latina worth exploring.
