Enjoyable but wouldn't return

I meet some friends for lunch here based on reviews and suggestions from others. I was a little less than impressed overall and probably wouldn't return. First, they messed up my reservation time. I'd asked for 1:30 and they made it for 3:00, fortunately they weren't that busy and it wasn't a... read more

A beautiful Terrace and delicious food! Reasonable price for a great food! I ordered the Bacalau and I totally recommend it.

We spent the morning with our guide surrounded by other tourists at the Prado and asked him to recommend a place for lunch off the beaten path so we would not be surrounded by tourists. He called his brother and they came up with Irocoo, and we're so glad they did. We were early by all Spanish Standards arriving at... More

This is one of the best meals we have ever had. Beautiful garden setting in the middle of the city. We highly recommend a table in the heated garden. The service was extremely attentive and the food was excellent. Good, reasonably priced wine.

The terrace was a lovely setting and we enjoyed the fact that the food arrived at a leisurely pace, giving you time to enjoy. The food was generally good, although perhaps not outstanding. We recommend the prawn cervice. Portions were generous, especially the gin, which was excellent!

Four of us had dinner, and a few hours after I ate the cod confit, I developed classic symptoms of food poisoning which totally ruined the next day in Madrid as I was too ill to leave my hotel. Really a shame because we had great service, a lovely ambience and what I thought was excellent food. I did let... More

Since we had a long day of sightseeing, six of us decided to have dinner close to our hotel. For the convenience we paid too much for mediocre food. My husband and I had 2 starters, Iberian ham croquettes and pate, as well as an avocado and shrimp salad. I also tasted a companion's tuna tartar nachos. While everything tasted... More

I took some family members for dinner as I love the fact of eating in a garden and I like the fact that the food is very international. The waiter kept forgetting what we had ordered. The food did not arrive at the same time, so it was cold when I ate it, and the wine was left on the... More

We did not bother to ask a garden table, so lunch was inside. Succulent. Great ceviche, marvelous choquinos (best I've had in a very long time), and wondedful seared tuna. All dishes with some exotic touch, and many dishes can be ordered in half portions which is very convenient. Extremely friendly servive. and reasonable prices, also (and especially) for the... More

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
