Just ok

The food was good, service has to be improved. Has a nice inner courtyard for dining out side. Not a must if in madrid. A good option if you are in the neighborhood.

Have been traveling through Spain the past 2-weeks and this has been one of our favorite meals. On the advice of a Madrid local, we first went to another restaurant and they made us feel so unwelcome as we didn't speak Spanish, so we left and came it Iroco and glad we did. Our server, Abdul, made us feel very... More

Lovely ambience sitting in the garden of this restaurant on a warm May evening. Good food and great service. Reasonable price for the standards offered

I had not been to the Iroco since the beginning of the financial crash in 2009. Very glad to see it has survived. The food is a modern interpretation of traditional Spanish cuisine and very well executed. I would recommend the baby squid with broad beans. The decor could do with a refresh and the lights in the main restaurant... More

I meet some friends for lunch here based on reviews and suggestions from others. I was a little less than impressed overall and probably wouldn't return. First, they messed up my reservation time. I'd asked for 1:30 and they made it for 3:00, fortunately they weren't that busy and it wasn't a problem to get in at 1:30. Second, the... More

We spent the morning with our guide surrounded by other tourists at the Prado and asked him to recommend a place for lunch off the beaten path so we would not be surrounded by tourists. He called his brother and they came up with Irocoo, and we're so glad they did. We were early by all Spanish Standards arriving at... More

This is one of the best meals we have ever had. Beautiful garden setting in the middle of the city. We highly recommend a table in the heated garden. The service was extremely attentive and the food was excellent. Good, reasonably priced wine.

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
