Had heard great reviews about this place. They do not take reservations so go early or very late. It gets crowded but it is really worth it. A kind of modern tapas/Asian/fusion food. Unexpected to find when everything else in the town is so traditional. Wine selection is excellent with wonderful white Alvarinhos. Service is excellent. have them help you... More

A different twist to the usual seafood fare in Galicia, and a welcome change after many heavier meals. The food is excellent - a fusion of Galician ingredients with Asian influences. Being Asian, I was pleasantly surprised by how well the chef and his team replicated flavours that were familiar, and yet, interestingly, not quite: and it is that slight... More

It's not a tipical tapas bar, both with regard to the food being served and the setting. there are three separate sittings, one long high table for about 20, where you sit in high benches side by side with other patrons, there's a small sushi style "barra", and a table for about 6 close to the open kitchen. The food... More

We had very high expectations for this restaurant based on the reviews here on tripadvisor and the recommendation of a friend. First, the business hours as listed her on trip advisor are incorrect. The restaurant opens at 13:30, not 13:00. (However, it should be noted that the correct hours are on their website.) When we arrived at 13:20, the restaurant... More

Galicia is well known as a place with spectacular seafood dining options. I agree! However, after several days of indulgence eating amazing seafood, prepared perfectly and simply, my family was craving something different. Casa Marcelo was a perfect option during our brief visit to Santiago de Compostela. The atmosphere is clean and modern and upscale casual. The menu offers a... More

If you are older and wiser - avoid! The menu is written in impossibly small print. The portions are even smaller. Good news - the kitchen is in full view and watching the many chefs working is wonderful. Bad news - you have to sit at a long, communal table on high, uncomfortable stools. The waitress was knowledgeable and helpful.... More

Shouldn't work, but it does. Very unusual menu but everything we tried was lovely. Lunchtime is best.

Do not miss this jewel in the heart of Santiago. Eating in Casa Marcelo was for me, one of my most enjoyable food experiences of the year.

The food here was superb. It was imaginative and flavourful. Each dish was beautiful to look at and incredible to taste. We couldn't book seats at the communal table and were told to drop by at 9pm. Get in early to get seats.

If you are looking for a fun evening of Tapas with friends, delicious wine, and fantastic service... This is the place to go. Over two visits, we almost covered their ever changing menu. Each plate just as delicious as the last. Great atmosphere in which you have an open view of the kitchen. Exciting to watch as you enjoy your... More
