Met expectations. We head read in advance so we were prepared for the smaller portions and prices. But we loved the big table,a great way to get know the locals and the food was fantastic. I particularly the crab in the seaweed wrap, it is a must try. The interpretation of Asian Fusion and Traditional Spanish was very interesting and... More

My wife and I live in Belgium, we love japanese food and have travelled around the globe, every time we are in a city we look for the best japanese food. First time we went to Casa Marcelo we were blown away. Sat at the sushi bar with Carlos and we let it go...and was the best dinner we ever... More

Marcelo is a surprising place. One does not travel to Galicia to eat japanese food. But go to Marcelo. In my opinion a pesfect example of modern fusion. It's well provided menu has japanese dishes, typical Galician food and everything in between. From fabes con almejas and zamburiñas to tuna tataki. I enjoyed ribs, Sichuan chicken, zamburiñas, fabes con almejas,... More

My husband and I ate here during our trip. We wanted local fish served up from a different perspective. They did not disappoint! The chef asked us if we wanted fish and without any further suggestions, began making us a selection of sushi and sashimi that was out of this world. My favorite part? He had a very strict "no... Truly awesome sushi and sashimi that's more about the taste and quality of the fish rather than hiding it with wasabi and soy. We've not had anything we don't like and the twist on things is great, everything from the fried chicken to the ribs, the arancini and the carnitas (which are better carnitas than I had in Mexico) Sushi... Great value for money. Nice galician-japanese food. Different setting. Great for even alone. Best seafood in town. Complete different from the rest seafood restaurants in santiago compostela. Highly recommended. Went there 2 days in a row and excellent!

After a few weeks in galicia, we were looking for a change from the standard tourist fare. Casa Marcelo appeared to fit the bill. I was quite surprised when I saw a big communal table and some bar seating. Not that I mind meeting new people but more that the sitting on a high chair crammed in with other people,... More

We can start from the sentence 'the food is excellent!'. It is a truth. First impression however was not the best. The Casa Marcelo design is 'no design' style or just no style. Old things mixes with modern detail as well as Red Hot Chili Peppers music seems to be too loud. Now is time for a nice looking waitress... More

At first we were a little worried about the seating arrangements around what seemed a long thin dining table, but we soon got used to it and even chatted with fellow diners due to the social layout- not something that normally happens!! The food was superb, with the dim sum, sushi and sashimi all being perfect. The patatas puerras was... More
