good meeting place for the locals and tourists alike

The small tapas of different types came with each drink you ordered depending on what time you were there.

This little restaurant was recommended to us by the locals when we were in Santiago in 2014. I returned in May, 2015, and again enjoyed a wonderful meal. The food is delicious and has a definite regional touch. It can be busy but it's worth the wait. There's an upstairs area, too, so ask about being seated there. And it's... More

Was here 2 years ago and promised myself I would come back as soon I would be back in Santiago. And I promised it again! Great dinner, still big portions, yummy tapas, great recommendation for wine. Do make a reservation, it's a busy place!

We were referred here by Hotel Altair--we arrived hungry and this was a very good option for a closeby lunch. They were extremely busy, but took care of us well. Good food and wine, and they did not seem to dumb down what they served, even though they had a lot of tourist trade. Came back for dinner one night,... More

Arriving to Santiago late on a Sunday we had limited choice but we were recommended this place by our lovely receptionist. To start, we mistrusted it because of the number of tourists, but after eating here not only we enjoyed it but we went back for lunchtime when there were only local regulars reading the newspapers and having a chat.... After finishing the Camino a small group of us was looking for a good meal, not the normal tourist stuff you get in the centre of Santiago. This place really fits the bill. They have a good range of wine by the glass. Very fairly priced and excellent quality. They are very generous with their tapas. We eventually went upstairs... More

Our hotel recommended the restaurant as very good and well respected by locals. We were not disappointed. We ate there twice on our trip and both times felt welcomed and supported by the staff with great recommendations for food and wine. A big surprise for us was the variety of salads and their quality. Great tasting and fresh. The one... More

Very busy bar/restaurant well frequented by the locals. Small raised wooden terrace outside. The barman lacked in public relations skills, if you are not Spanish. The norm in the city is for a free tapa with your drink. None was offered with my glass of wine, and when I asked for some peanuts, I was charged .30 cents. I won't... More

This is a popular restaurant among locals and its fame is well-deserved. It offers an extensive menu of traditional Galician and Spanish dishes plus one of the town’s best wine lists (bodeguilla means small wine cellar). Check out the menu on their web site. This restaurant is located at the edge of the old town. It consists of two floors... More
