great location, friendly service

Beer & raciones were the order of the day. Enormous platter of standard jamon, chorizo & cheeses. Calamari was fresh & tasty. "Normal" salad was covered in raw white onion but otherwise crisp & fresh. Friendly service on a busy lunchtime

We stopped by mid-afternoon for a soft drink and a snack. We were served promptly and the Spanish omelet we had was better than many. Prices are competitive with other establishment and are increased slightly when you sit outside. Very pleasant square near the cathedral.

Dinner on Monday night. It was quite empty. The service was nice (nothing sophisticated), but the food a bit of a let down. Croquetas sticky and hard to chew. Fish was almost floating in the orange colored oil, maybe is the way locals like it? So more the matter of taste. Hate to say it, but the worst meals of... More

We ate here on a Sunday night and for most of our visit the place was deserted! Then a large family arrived and the atmosphere improved dramatically. San Jaime was our backup (see my review of O Paris) and it proved to be everything we needed in terms of food, wine, local again, and service. Highly recommended!

My wife & I ate here twice on our 3 night stay, lunch and dinner, both times downstairs so we could soak up the atmosphere. 'Gifts' of food arrive with a drinks order, peppers, Spanish omelette etc which were very tasty and the ordered food was too. We also stopped here a few times while just wandering in the evenings... The restaurant was just across the plaza from us. The place was packed and as we walked up, the waiter was just cleaning a table so we swooped in. Outdoor seating of course. We decided to eat tapas style and everything was tasty. The food came quickly, our waiter was fantastic. We had a wonderful time. Highly recommend you eat... More

On a corner with places to sit out staff were helpful and attentive. Ate here twice, once on street and nice inside. Both were really great experiences. Some cafes locally catered for tourists and were not really bothered or helpful especially if we were trying out our Spanish, but despite being busy these guys were always friendly. Food was good... We ate here on a wet Wednesday evening - all was very well with the thoroughly enjoyed octopus and clams and prawns with garlic. But... A portion of zamburinas (small sea scallops)was so overcooked that the small scallops could not be lifted from the shells, let alone eaten. This was put down to us not understanding the dish, although we have... More

Located right behind the cathedral and next to Plaza de Fonseca, this place is almost packed all the time it is open. I decided to check this place out as it was the nearest restaurant to where I stayed, and it turned out that I had enjoyed my meal there. Was quite undecided what to eat and wanted to try... More

During my vacations of 8 days in Santiago de Compostela, I ate almost every night in this restaurant. Well, one has to say that the restaurant is divided in two parts, at the ground floor one can find a nice bar where one can have some drinks and eat Tapas, while in the first floor the restaurant for the real...
