Where were all the other people!

Wat a treat! We were given this address by Spanish gourmets but where were all the other gourmets on the Friday we dined there. Fabulous kitchen, great service, well explained in English, great wines. Go there!

Perfect. Fantastic food, great value, unassuming service. Go for the tasting menu and take the matching wines.

We went for a short notice meal for two to celebrate completing the camino and had a great experience. We both had the taster menu (43e) and accompanying wine selection (30e). Both were excellent. The highlight for me was probably the very first dish, which was the best watermelon gazpacho I have ever tasted. Also, the location was great with... More

The restaurant is away from the touristic center but really worth the walk. The chef got several awards for being the rising star in gastronomy in Spain. We took the degustation menu (4 aperitivos, 3 entry, 2 main dishes, 2 deserts if I recall correctely!) at a very reasonable 43 euro and it was amazing. Very innovative - Nothing we... More

Reservations are suggested on this rated restaurant. There is a small bar, stone tables, and seating in the rear that have small tables with a view to the rear and garden view. It did look like in warmer weather they might have a table or two outside. The menu was the best we had in Santiago. The service was kind... More

This is not a place for the typical pilgrim - locally sourced food but with modern twists, perfect seasoning, and beautiful presentation. Full of locals, tasteful trendy decor. Excellent sommelier who introduced us to a new wine we enjoyed very much. We had the pleasure of eating at many simple restaurants in Santiago - this is not one of them.... More

I am astounded that this restaurant doesn't come up higher in the ratings as it is by far the best meal we have had in the two holidays we have had in Santiago in the last two years. The meal and service were as the title says perfect. The restaurant is outside the main historic centre but les than 10... More

Acio is a quite unassuming place on a main road about 400 metres from the main tourist areas, but a great find. Comfortable, good and pleasant service and refined food. Nice selection of wines by the glass, carefully served. Beautifully presented roasted seasonal vegetables and a crab and mushroom stack topped with basil ice cream were stimulating starters; tender, tasty... More

We ate here twice during a stay in the city. The first night was just after arriving in the city by foot after a week's walking so we were hungry and thirsty. We had the tasting menu (€43) with matching wines for each dish (€35). Everything was well and simply cooked with beautiful presentation. The service was friendly and attentive.... More

This is one of those lovely restaurants where you know they care about what's on your plate and what's in your wine glass. The service is effortlessly professional and the prices very reasonable, even inexpensive for this kind of quality. The food is imaginative with the markedly precise flavour's of a kitchen that knows what it's doing. They even have... More
