This is not a place for the typical pilgrim - locally sourced food but with modern twists, perfect seasoning, and beautiful presentation. Full of locals, tasteful trendy decor. Excellent sommelier who introduced us to a new wine we enjoyed very much. We had the pleasure of eating at many simple restaurants in Santiago - this is not one of them.... More

I am astounded that this restaurant doesn't come up higher in the ratings as it is by far the best meal we have had in the two holidays we have had in Santiago in the last two years. The meal and service were as the title says perfect. The restaurant is outside the main historic centre but les than 10... More

Acio is a quite unassuming place on a main road about 400 metres from the main tourist areas, but a great find. Comfortable, good and pleasant service and refined food. Nice selection of wines by the glass, carefully served. Beautifully presented roasted seasonal vegetables and a crab and mushroom stack topped with basil ice cream were stimulating starters; tender, tasty... More

We ate here twice during a stay in the city. The first night was just after arriving in the city by foot after a week's walking so we were hungry and thirsty. We had the tasting menu (€43) with matching wines for each dish (€35). Everything was well and simply cooked with beautiful presentation. The service was friendly and attentive.... More

This is one of those lovely restaurants where you know they care about what's on your plate and what's in your wine glass. The service is effortlessly professional and the prices very reasonable, even inexpensive for this kind of quality. The food is imaginative with the markedly precise flavour's of a kitchen that knows what it's doing. They even have... More

The title says it all. Our server spoke excellent English and helped us with our menu selections. He also also suggested a nice white wine to accompany our meal. To my astonishment, after I asked about several wines on the wine list, he suggested a more reasonably priced bottle. Maybe he eyeballed us and knew from our clothing that we... More

we had lunch on a Thursday afternoon at this small restaurant - all locals except us. the food was amazing. Elegantly prepared and presented. The wine list is excellent and not over-priced. Service was impeccable - attentive but not intrusive . This is outside the old city but a ten minute walk makes it more than worthwhile to hsve this... More

Acio is not a usual suspect in Santiago de Compostela. Most probably instead of German or Japanese tourists you will find local customers, professors from the nearby university and knowledgeable visitors. The place is away from the busy center of the city but close enough to walk to it, and enjoy a very good meal in a quiet environment, for... More

Really enjoyed the tasting menu with wine pairing, each dish was exciting and interesting. The flavours were strong but well balanced and the wine complimented perfectly each time. Definitely good value for the culinary expertise and good service.

If you are going to Santiago de Compostela and like to dine in Michelin-star-quality-restaurants you must go to Acio. I had the tasting menu and it was absolutely fantastic, imaginative and surprising, but still very, very good. The price was ridiculously low, 43 Euros for a seven, albeit small, courses. I also had the most wonderful wine menu – 7... More
