If you can get in the door and find a place to sit or stand, you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing tapas. Good quality. Fantastic presentation. Smartly dressed, efficient staff. You can eat more cheaply in Santiago de Compostela, but this is an enjoyable experience.

Waited some time to get a table, but it was worth the waiting. Very good tapas, good wine, good service - the restaurant is not big, it was crowded and noisy but never mind - the food was outstanding!

This was a great place for tapas at as reasonable price. The restaurant was very busy and loud, but staff was friendly and accommodating.

We went out late searching for food. Taking into the account the time and all, I was on the lookout for some tapas or pinchos...when I saw this place. The counter was full and the price looked reasonable. We carried on a little further, but decided to turn back. The decision wasn't regretted at all! Trying to keep the cost... More

My wife and I have been to Spain four times since 2004, each time for at least a month, so we know a thing or two about tapas. It is hard to choose among the different flavours in different regions of Spain, as in each case you will get what's specific to the local food system. In Santiago de Compostela... More

Visited twice as based on menus/ambience one of the better tapas places on the main strip/ Generous portions/good choice of dishes/quick service and good wine list. Is busy though so you may need to wait for a table!

First of all it was really difficult to get a table. The waiter told us to wait 15 minutes, took down our names and then we were simply forgotten. Finally we managed to get a table and ordered cod with a honey sauce, omelette with salmon and asparagus, fried potatoes with a cheesy red sauce and a meat plate. All... More

The place was recommended by a local guy from Compostela and he was absolutely right. We went twice (pinchos for dinner and next day for lunch). Good variety, good quality, good service, good price.... And you meet locals as well as The World.

We got the suggestion to visit the place from the local one and it was worth it! The best tapas I've got with the absolutely friendly service. Definitely must place to visit if you are in Santiago.

We went to "A Taberna do Bispo" following the advice of our Portuguese guide, Mr. Paulo Mucha, and we just loved it! Located at famous Rua do Franco, the busy street in Santiago de Compostela where almost all bars and restaurants are placed, it offers an enormous variety of "tapas". We tried a few: bread baked with tomatoes; grilled mushrooms;... More
