The place was recommended by a local guy from Compostela and he was absolutely right. We went twice (pinchos for dinner and next day for lunch). Good variety, good quality, good service, good price.... And you meet locals as well as The World.

We got the suggestion to visit the place from the local one and it was worth it! The best tapas I've got with the absolutely friendly service. Definitely must place to visit if you are in Santiago.

We went to "A Taberna do Bispo" following the advice of our Portuguese guide, Mr. Paulo Mucha, and we just loved it! Located at famous Rua do Franco, the busy street in Santiago de Compostela where almost all bars and restaurants are placed, it offers an enormous variety of "tapas". We tried a few: bread baked with tomatoes; grilled mushrooms;... More

I visited here with my family and the food was amazing and the best tapas we have all ever had. We ordered squid, big prawns, Jamón ibérico, tomato bread, pimiento peppers, potato bravas and an incredible local cheese coated in toasted almonds and I think blueberry and it was all amazing and great value for money. We did our best... More

Right off the tourist trail on Calle franco. We were presently surprised by the prices and the seafood was great. The house white was also very good.

A wonderful variety of food choices and everything fresh and tasty. The staff was friendly and engaging. Sometimes, an evening of tapas can end with a shockingly large bill. However, this was not the case here. We ate and drink all evening and were pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the bill was.

This would be a 2 star review except for some excellent pimientos de pardon (little green peppers that are mostly not hot). We sat at the tapas bar. The place was insanely busy and it was hard to get a seat though from most of the food we had I am not sure why. It is on a main street... More

On our second or third night we decided on here. The choices on the main restaurant streets can be overwhelming and over priced for what you get I felt. For anyone who is familiar with Montaditos or Pecaditos here in Spain this is a similar style but better. I didn't realise it was this style until we arrived at the... More

A good variety of delicious tapas, well displayed and helpful staff made it worth our while eating at Taverna Do Bispo on both our nights in Santiago De Compostela. There are comfortable stools to sit in front of the counter as well as on the back wall. It is a narrow access, so it can be cramped. The food consisting... More

My husband and I loved this tapas restaurant. In fact we loved it so much that we ate here both nights that we were in Santiago de Compostela. On each of the nights that we ate at A Taberna de Bispo we sat at the bar. Immediately in front of us was a large selection of beautifully prepared cold tapas.... More
