Nice atmosphere with good food

Off the main square this place had a nice rustic feel in the tables and layout and at 2200 was nicely busy without being crowded. The seafood is a good range and mostly it is very well cooked – the fried squid being a good example as it was lightly done, not like in the UK where the life is... read more

We didn't enjoy the pulpo so much, which put us off the restaurant at first. After a week, however, we realised this was simply the Gallego style and it was in fact the best we tried anywhere in Galicia. It's very oily and very salty. An acquired taste. In addition, we had a racion of Chipperones (whole small squid), which... More

I went specifically for the pulpo gallega. I ordered the 1/2 racion (1/2 portion) for 6 euros and that was plenty. It was expertly prepared. It was soft, not chewy or tough at all, hot, and it had the perfect amount of picante paprika on top. The crusty bread served with it was excellent. Also, I had an excellent albarino... More

Meson de Pulpo was very busy with locals and tourists so seemed a good bet. We had to wait about 10 minutes for a table but then were served quickly and efficiently. Some dishes are available as half portions... More

One of the many seafood joints on Calle de la Franja. The seafood was fresh and neither overcooked nor over prepared which is all I care about in seafood. Bonus for the inexpensive, good house wine.
