small gem

food is fantastic with an unchanging menu and limited wine list but great value. Seating is limited so a reservation makes good sense.

So good we went twice in five days. This Catalan/Japanese fusion tapas restaurant does wonderfully delicious, inventive food. Dishes are from about €4.50 to €10 – you need 4/5 for 2 people. Wine is local and inexpensive. Highly recommended – reservations essential.

A year has passed since our last visit to Sitges and our first destination was El Pou. This is an outstanding tapas restaurant and our favoured choice out of many fine Sitges eateries. So what a pleasure for El Pou to still be producing innovative tapas to their extraordinarily high standards. The waygu mini hamburgers, the Japanese chicken skewers, the... More

This is certainly a tapas bar with a (sort of Japanese) twist. There are mini wagyu beef burgers (delicious), and steak tartare (yummy). Service was good but a bit slow with one guy doing everything; he managed very well albeit very seriously. Booking essential.

Went there on the recommendation of the hotel concierge and it is a little difficult to find (but be persistent!). It is a small restaurant and there were no tables available however we waited not for very long for a table to e prepared next to the kitchen. I'm not going to labour the point but the tapas is executed... More

Stopped here on our 5th night of tapas crawling Barcelona and Sitges. This is THE one to come back to. The patatas bravas must not be missed. Look a bit like spring rolls and taste divine. Don't know how they do this with potatoes. Great meats (wagyu) etc. we were originally only going to have two or three dishes as... More

Fantastic tapas here. Can't recommend the twist on patatas brave highly enough and I didn't think it could be improved upon in its original form. Make sure you get these, they are stunning. In fact, all the food was stunning as was the wine, the coffee and desserts. I don't think there is a bad dish on the menu. You... More

So, the restaurant we wanted to go to was not open, ( Mondays are only about 50% open), so we wandered into El Pau. And thank goodness we did. What a very interesting menu. Don't expect sliders and French fries, although they do have a hamburger if you want. We told the waiter we were in his hands and he... More
