An excellent meal, in a world-class restaurant. Had a 5-hour lunch here. 14 course meal, with tasters I guess 21 courses in total. If I look for things to criticize, I could say the one shrimp that was baked in some dough, was a bit chewy. In addition, I got two glasses of wine where there was a lot of... More

I ate here just two weeks after going to Noma (in Copenhagen). Would I rank El Celler #2 after Noma? That's difficult to say. Noma has incredibly creative dishes with unusual ingredients. El Celler also has some highly creative courses but more typically using fairly common ingredients in an unusual way. El Celler therefore feels more like the kind of... More

We went there with friends in April this year for dinner. We had booked months in advance and we felt it was a once in a lifetime opportunity and we were not disappointed. Everything is perfect : + the staff is amazingly efficient, nice and discret throughout the whole dinner (we were there for 5 hours). + the place is... More

by coincidence we ate at Hof van Cleve in Belgium the week after, and we found that better, but El Celler is far more inventive and - last but not least - far less expensive! the food is comparable to Astrid y Gaston in Lima

Outstanding. Brilliant. Sublime. Perfect. What more is there to say? We thoroughly enjoyed the Feast Menu with the accompanying wine course. The flavours were spot-on, the food cooked and presented beautifully. Some surprises but all positive - no signs of getting carried away by experimenting. Excellent service - just the right level of communication to explain the food and wine.... More

This was our reason for visiting Girona. Like most others we have waited a year for this, making the reservation last July. It was a surprise for my partners 30th so I was hoping for amazing! All I can say is it far exceeded our expectations and could quite possibly be the most amazing meal we have ever had! 4.5... More

The whole experience was wow from start to end . We didn't begrudge one penny of a very expensive evening out! Surprisingly the wines are very reasonable and we paid less for a bottle of Muscadet there than we do at home. Our waiter was a delight and carefully explained what we were eating and even though the dining room... More

Best restaurant I have eaten! The food - of course, but not only that. What you get from this place - is the feeling of huge respect the owners have for their guests. By respecting your guests this much they show how respectful and honourable their profession is to them, how they value it and how proud they are of... More

We made a reservation in May 2013 and finally visited in June 2014. The whole experience was truly fantastic, everything from the service to the quality of ingredients and the food preparation was perfect! We had a few very lovely hours and we are just dying to revisit El Celler de Can Roca. The only issues we had during our... More

Let me start with a Funny detail: Our reservation was given 13 months ahead, for 2nd of May to be more precise. Exactly on the Week it Lost its outstanding Nr.1 position to Copenhagens Best. Yupp! ;) Normally when talking about superlatives I'm rather cautios to absorb all of the opinions without any doubt. So dissapointment was part of the... More
