Amazing experience

The degustation meal was THE most amazing meal I have EVER had. So much detail and thoughtfulness had been put into every mouthful.

We're not sure why this place has gotten some digs on account of cold service as we experienced the opposite. The owner/chef came over several times. He delivered all the bills personally and asked how the meal was. He also went outside and held the door for us when we left. The server we had (younger female) was friendly and... More

The restaurant is small but nicely laid out there are limited tables so you will need to book. I would suggest the gastronomic tasting menu with or without accompanied wines. My husband and I chose to have a bottle of our choosing which was reasonably priced and delicious. The menu is basically made up of mini plates of individual delights... More

Whilst initially trying to get a table at el Celler de Gran Roca (booked 14 months in advance) we headed to Masana. A nicely but not spectacular decorated restaurant in down-town Girona. We (mistakenly) received the menu in Catalan so it was hard to chose something and we decided to go for the gastronomic menu thinking we had to chose... More

The tasting menu had some interesting snacks, eel, duck, quail, squid, truffles and other delights. I particulSauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer, rosa, several reds and a sherry all were superb. This as a great way to start off our trip to Spain.

The food was fabulous and the wine pairings were lovely with the menu. The restaurant has no windows, and the table layout makes the place feel uncomfortable, particularly with the staff being rather 'stand-offish'. Granted their English was much better than our Spanish, but we still felt as if we had intruded on them. Worth a visit just for the... More

As a connoisseur of the restoration world, I have to say that for being a 1 Michelin star restaurant it's very surprising. On every moment that you don't expect anything else, they appear with something, small details that make the difference. To say a bad thing, the chef is too much time outside the kitchen and goes a lot to... More

A large group of us came here for Dinner. We had a private room (with private entrance!) and a set menu. What was nice was the Spanish twist...it was a tasting menu but with Tapas style starters (Sheep Cheese spheres,...). For the main courses there was Tuna, Hake, local beef,...They had chosen locals whites and reds which were both very... More

After eating at the best restaurant in the world the day before (my opinion, currently number two on the list) I was very excited to eat at Massana, It has a Michelin star to signify excellence and from the other reviews I was expected to be wowed by another gastronomic master piece. Unfortunately this was not the case. We arrived... More

Arrived in Girona at the edge of lunch service. Fortunately a table was available at Massana. Creative food with friendly, Chef involved service.
