If you like fine food worth a visit

The food wine and service were fantastic, well worth a visit. Quite a small restaurant so not the buzz of some other restaurants. But if you like refined dining, good wine and appreciate first class service then you will not be disappointed.

We visited while on holiday, having previously visited Nu and Munchen in Girona. We had the tasting menu but were not wowed by it. Many of the courses were cold, this made it feel like they were prepared in advance, and whilst pleasant they didn't wow us. The staff were attentive, and were concerned that our daughter wasn't eating every... More

We thoroughly enjoyed the new summer tasting menu with wine selections. This was our first visit, but won't be our last. Each successive dish built on intensity and we kept saying it couldn't get any better, but the next dish was! The taste, textures and eye-appeal made for an out-of-this-world experience we will never forget. Excellent service in an elegant,... More

Girona has a long list of potentially exciting eateries and Massana's reviews and Michelin star set expectations high. But the room was only 30% full, without atmosphere and the food was well presented but lacked excitement or flavour.

Thought it would be good because of the reveiws on here. Unfortunately, it was overpriced and not as good as El Munchen, which is definately the best restaurant in Girona.

The degustation meal was THE most amazing meal I have EVER had. So much detail and thoughtfulness had been put into every mouthful.

We're not sure why this place has gotten some digs on account of cold service as we experienced the opposite. The owner/chef came over several times. He delivered all the bills personally and asked how the meal was. He also went outside and held the door for us when we left. The server we had (younger female) was friendly and... More

The restaurant is small but nicely laid out there are limited tables so you will need to book. I would suggest the gastronomic tasting menu with or without accompanied wines. My husband and I chose to have a bottle of our choosing which was reasonably priced and delicious. The menu is basically made up of mini plates of individual delights... More

Whilst initially trying to get a table at el Celler de Gran Roca (booked 14 months in advance) we headed to Masana. A nicely but not spectacular decorated restaurant in down-town Girona. We (mistakenly) received the menu in Catalan so it was hard to chose something and we decided to go for the gastronomic menu thinking we had to chose... More
