Best little tapes bar in Girona

This is our favourite spot for Basque pinxos in Girona. The choice is huge, both savoury and sweet, but you can always choose from the a la carte menu if you want a bigger meal. I love the famous Basque cider but there is a good choice of soft drinks and coffee should you prefer to be alcohol free... read more

Having played golf all day, we were starving and decided to go out for dinner with no specific goal in mind. After a few minutes stroll we passed Txalaka and saw that it was packed and had a line which confirmed we were onto something interesting so we got in line. The place was packed with locals and within 5... More

We rarely return to a restaurant when on holiday - half the pleasure us experiencing different restaurants - but we returned to this establishment! The atmosphere was great and the choice of tapas enormous. The food was all laid out and available for selection. I didn't give it 5 stars because we didn't know how much anything cost until we... When we visited this tapas restaurant it was mostly full of locals which we took to be a good sign. There are a wide range of tapas to choose from - you just take the ones you want & the bill is based on the number you have taken. There are sweet tapas as well as savory so you can... More

Enjoyed a few glasses of wine and 9-10 toothpicks worth of snacks here our first night in Girona. Excellent food, typical lazy-style European service allowed wife and I to enjoy an easy meal at a great restaurant. We went to many other places in Girona after that first night but I would have happily returned to Txalaka

Great atmosphere, with helpful and attentive staff. Lovely selection of Tapas, which you can help yourself to, the cost worked out by how many cocktail sticks or plates. Menu also gives plenty of variety, and local cuisine. Just as acceptable is the wine list, with plenty of good quality local wines and at reasonable cost. So good the first time... More

We enjoyed Txalaka last year, so took four friends from Canada (all of whom were touring around Catalonia and Southern France) hoping it was still excellent. It was! The six of us all loved the variety of tapas (pintxos) including dessert tapas, and the generous portions. It was fresh, tasty and inexpensive, especially given the quality. The friendly but not... I love the varety of tapas. Perfect Basque restaurant for class dinners, where we can eat whatever you want. With a big and rustic room and a terrace (great for summer). Usually there are a lot of people, and for this reason they have fanthastic atmosphere.

Great tapas place serving main courses if required. Very simple set up - if you just want tapas help yourself - they then count the sticks & little dishes. Recommend that you try some rationes as well - the calamari was particularly good. Very nice wine from the region - Emporda @ 17 euros a bottle - knocked the M... More

I loved the variety of tapas, unusual combinations of food and the fast payment system. This place is usually packed with Spanish people and some tourists.
