Right in the centre of the old town. As you walk in you are greeted by a lovely selection of tapas on the bar. You collect a plate and choose what you would like. The cocktail sticks in each portion keep a record of what you have eaten. A lovely casual setting, good service and a great place to "people... More

Right in the middle of the Old City. We went in for a quick beer and ended up eating about 3 courses. They have a separate section for foies gras in the menu with very interesting combinations. A very good first meet with basque cuisine.

We collected visiting friends from the train station and had a wonderful tapas lunch at this taverna on one of the back streets of Girona. The bar was lined with very appetizing tapas and we each chose a few. They bring hot tapas around to the tables as they are prepared. Between the four of us we had eighteen tapas... More

Great concept, I had never been to a basque tapas bar before! This is a great spot we found while in Girona. They serve basque tapas which are called pintxos. There is an open buffet of little delights served on bread and kept together by a toothpick. Just go to the bar, get a plate and a wine and take... More

We live here in Girona and Zanpanzar is our favorite tapas place. Wonderful, casual atmosphere and great for families! The place opens at 7pm, which is early for most restaurants here in Girona. Grab a plate and pile on the pintxos. Be sure to save your toothpicks, as this is how they give you the bill. We have enjoyed ordering... More

Oh joy! As soon as I walked through the door I remembered just why I had spent ten years living in Bilbao. Good atmosphere and wonderful tapas. I will be back!

This place is great to have a drink like wine, txacolí (Basque white wine) or a beer and also have some "pintxos" (Basque tapas). You enter and they give you an empty plate. There's a bar with a lot of diferent pintxos, so you take as many as you want and then you pay for the number of toothpicks you... More

I rarely write two reviews for the same place, but after living in Girona for a year, I have found new favorites on the Zanpanzar menu. And I want you to try them! Now when I eat at this place, I walk right on by the pintxos and opt for some of the dishes on the menu. They are hit... More

Went here twice during short stay. Friendly staff who explain procedure. Good quality and inventive tapas. €1.80 each item. You could order full meals but we didnt. Nice to sit outside.
