Food is ok, washrooms are scary

We were brought into the back room and immediately could smell the washrooms throughout... Should have been the first sign. The risotto was pretty good as was the halibut. The chicken kebabs were something you could buy off the street for a quarter of the price. Service was descent.

Went in for a menu del dia and service was good and the food very tasty and plenty of it. Seen some of the other reviews and was in main front room and no issues in there so no idea about the rest of the place. For €10 for the 3 courses and a drink, can't argue with it and... More

I noticed the menu for this restaurant at the entrance to a typical Barcelona alley, so I went to have a look.... It is a small restaurant, quite dark, but with a relaxing, peaceful atmosphere. There were local people eating there, which is always reassuring. The set menu for 12 euros was good value. The portions were small, but this... More

Terrible food, it seemed to be frozen food. Filthy place. They tried to sell us a wine wich costs 2 Euros at the supermarket for 17 Euros. We had the lunch menu for 13,4 Euros, too much for such a disappointing experience.

Very salty, not the cleanest place. The service is ok. We would not recommend this if you prefer a clean place and non salty food.

Food was very tasty, smoked salmon tagliatelle to start and sirloin steak for mains. Service was excellent, a very friendly helpful prompt waiter. The only fault was a slight smell at the start, maybe they could benefit from a door at the entrance to hall leading to the toilets. In a great location with nice decor and a good atmosphere,... We stayed at the neighbouring hotel and they own a good restaurant, but we could not dine there for the first night as we did not book in advance. So, sniffed around the hotel nearby and chose this restaurant with no knowledge. We had grilled veg, fried calamari, fried chinpirone, veal stake, meat ball and octopus. Well, quality is quite... Avoid this restaurant at all costs. Food terrible, service awful, place smelly? Do not even think about eating here.

Looked interesting and inviting from the outside, being set in one of the numerous alleyways in El Born. Our table was in a dark, dingy and dirty room with wallpaper about to fall from the ceiling. The menus were covered in grease spots and should have been a wake -up call. Three COLD Lebanese chicken curries had to be sent... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
