Wonderful food, drinks and atmosphere!

I had to come back and even ate the same meal (unheard of for me). The staff are Friendly and knowledgeable (its Spain so you're not gonna get the speed of service you might in london Or New York!) but superb quality and highly attentive There's a mix of tapas all well presented and super fresh and then there's the... Just bloody brilliant! The food is freakin perfect. Dinner or brunch, you can't go wrong. Have a pink lemonade or bloody mary and enjoy.

WOW! One of the best meals I've had in Spain. So fresh and delicious. Their eggs Benedict is out of this world. The freshly squeezed orange juice is really fresh and tasty too. Their service was slow, they were not attentive enough, hence the 4 star. But if you are not in a rush then it's no issue. HIGHLY recommended.

Cool place near the Arc de Triomf. The brunch menu includes both tapas style dishes as well as larger dishes. The soft shell crab BLT and the duck hash was amazing. They also have very nice brunch coctails - try the fruity home made ice tea!

We heard picnic was all the rage from lots of friends from Melbourne and we went for a big dinner with 8 girls. Portions were really reasonably priced and pretty tasty. If you're looking for authentic Spanish food though, skip the picnic because it's closer to something you'd find for brunch in Melbourne (the chef Aaron is Canadian which may... More

Great tasty food in a fantastic spot. Would be my local hang out if I lived there.. Stopped by for a very late breakfast. Girlfriend is vegetarian and there was enough options to choose from. Great relaxed cafe atmosphere

this restaurant was one of my best meals in Spain. Not traditional food but very very good quality, great presentation and sooooo tasty! Great value also. Fried green tomatoes starter is amazing. And had the steak which I wouldn't normally order in Europe but I didn't regret. Perfectly cooked, so tender and with the perfect accompaniments. We shared a bottle... More

Picnic was by far our favorite place in Barcelona. The first time we went was during the day, lunch was around 12 euros I think, super reasonable. I had the fried green tomatoes, eggs benedict, and a smoothie for dessert. I am from the deep south, and I never would have thought I'd be eating fried green tomatoes in Barcelona!... More

I went twice. . I love the whole place - great food, very friendly staff, good drinks, nice ambience, away from the crowds as it's along an unassuming alley. French toast is delicious - I ordered it both times! The pancakes are nice, the fried green tomatoes were just a little overdone for my liking.

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
