Best Galicia food!

You can enjoy absolutely incredible food for not expensive price. But if you are looking for touristic restorant with high and slow service, don't go there. There are only locals. If you are looking for romantic place, forget it. This place is only for delicious food and family atmosphere.

We found this local restaurant while walking looked amazing enough to share a plate between 3-4 people. We waited 45 mins for a table. The waitress was very busy. After a couple left, we asked if we could have this table. She said all tables were reserved all night. We were first in line, waited 45 mins, locals kept skipping... More

Delicious! Mi esposo and I arrived about 9:15 on a Saturday night. We did not have reservations although they are highly recommended. The hostess was hesitant to seat us but the owner was not. We received the last table for two. The waiter is adorable. He is patient with our lack of Catalan or Spanish. We ordered the prawns. They... More

We just ate at Retorno. A little nerve wrecking as you walk in. Definitely does not portray the quality of the food. Everything was excellent and fresh! We had the pulpo, spanish ham and cheese, lamb chops, the solomillo and the grilled prawns. All the food was fresh and well prepared. This is a family run restaurant with home made... More

One of the best galiciean restaurants in town, excellent sea food, fool of locals and local families - better make a reservation in advance, no decoration but the sea food is exepcional.

If you like seafood, I'd like to recommend you there. I ordered grilled prawns and steamed mussels. I was satisfied with my dinner because of delicious foods and reasonable prices, However Staff was unfriendly. Excepting that, there was a good restaurant.

This restaurant serves traditional Galician food, one our favorite dishes is "pulpo a la gallega" (baked octopus with potatoes and paprika) which is highly recomended, good value for money with exception of the bread which is quite pricey at around 2 euros per head. The place itself has seen better years, and it looks rundown, they have an outside seating... More

Retorno is back to basics in decor and service but the food is really excellent. I've eaten here a few times over a few years and the food has always been great. If possible go for the outside tables. My favourite dishes are the Octupus served onto a plate of potatoes (Pulpo) and the Razor clams (Navajas), but all seafood... More

Service is a bit rude? Yes, it's a spanish family-run business always stuffed with people....what do you expect? So, you need to be aware of these things when you go to a place like this otherwise it's like going to a BBQ place and expecting the glass for the water and the one for the wine. Cutting to the chase,... More

When we ordered grilled prawns we expected the usual 6 prawns that other restaurants give, so we were astonished to receive a tray loaded to the brim with large king prawns...probable 30 of them, and so deliciously flavored. It was a meal fit for a king! The couple with us meanwhile ordered the seafood platter for two, and a tray... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
