Favorite Meal of our Trip

My family and I had an excellent experience here from the customer service to the amazing food! Best meal of our trip to Europe! They also spoke very good English for anyone who struggles with their Spanish. Coming back next time we are in Spain!

I was really looking forward to going here after reading trip advisor reviews & being vegan - but unfortunately we left really disappointed. First the service was terrible. On arrival we were told a 10 min wait for a table and told we could have a drink in the bar area. 45 minutes later after continually seeing lots of people... More

Amazing choice of gin and tonics. Very imaginative menu. The smoked lentil stew was amazing. We even got a blow by blow account of how they did the smoking when we asked. Went twice in a 6 day trip.

We visited on the strength of previous reviews. I used to be a vegetarian and my partner a definite meat-eater. The food we had here was perfect; cooked by a clearly passionate and creative chef. We had the taster menu with wine for €25. The best dishes being delicious roasted fennel with a rich basil sauce, topped with an egg... More

We had a fabulous time at Sesamo. The food was spectacular and the chef very nice and informative. I would go back again when in Barcelona. We werent able to be seated in the back dining room, but instead sat in the front near the door - but the space is small and intimate and worked out well.

I had dinner at the sesamo with my wife and son, all veggies, and all three of us loved the place. it has a nice, if simple rustic atmosphere, waiters are friendly and efficient. we had booked a table which was ready and waiting for us. we all had the 7 course tasting menu for Euro 26.-, including wine and... I cannot recommend this tapas bar enough. If you have struggled to find veggie and vegan tapas, other than potatas bravas, then look no further. The pumkin soup was the best I've ever had and it just got better from there. The service was friendly, attentive and impeccable. Try the taster menu and blow your mind.

I booked this restaurant in advance for myself and my fiancé (who is not a vegetarian) based on trip advisor reviews and we defiantly were not disappointed. We can both honestly say it was one of the best meals we have ever had and we eat out a lot! The tasting menu was great value for money and was a... More

This tiny restaurant in tucked away at the back of a tapas bar. It doesn't advertise it's presence too well but it was packed on a Friday night. My partner is veggie so we often look for recommendations, especially in Spain where the concept of vegetarianism is still alien to many. I get more upset than he does if a... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
