Great food - terrible service

this feedback is for the restaurant part of the business, not the bar/tapas section: the service was so bad we actually thought about leaving the place before we were given the chance to order food. this was until we realized it was part if the culture to be quick and not very personal. once you... read more

Terrific tapas and deserts. The restaurant/bar is mainly attended by locals, and that's probably the reason why they hardly speak any language other than catalan. If you think you could pass over the waiters' rudeness and lack of attention, get in. otherwise there are plenty of fish in the sea..

Based on reviews I went by, they were fully booked the next couple of days so I booked a table a few days later. The experience did not live up to my expectations. Ordered fish and it was one big piece of fish with no sides (I had asked for sides and they did not have any). Most of the... More

This is a local Barça institution, and it's first come first served. We arrived early (20:15) and queued to get in when the doors opened at 20:30. It's a scramble for the seats at the counter and then you just help yourself to tapas as it comes round or is served in front of you. The bill is added up... More

Recommended by our B&B this is a great little tapas bar, but beware, it is so popular with TA readers and locals alike that you HAVE to be there when it opens at 8:30pm to have any hope of a seat. Better is 8:15pm as they often open the doors earlier. Just a fun place to have an inexpensive drink... More

While in Barcelona, we had already visited three tapas restaurants which served the traditional and expected small plates of food. Taktika Berri, on the other hand, offers a totally different experience. Each little tapas is like a French amuse bouche, or one mouthful of food which delivers great taste. At the end, you pay by the toothpick! It is important... More

My partner and I have frequently been to Donostia ( San Sebastian) in the Basque country and have some favourite spots for pinxos so it was a delight to find this place in Barcelona and it's certainly worth a visit. The bar had many locals and regulars which is always a great sign. We got there just as it opened... More

Good restaurant of Basque cuisine. MAke sure you are first in line if you want to have some tapas at 20.30, it gets packed soon. In case you sit at the table you can have some directly served to you, or you may have some at the bar before going to you table. I've tried some seafood and meat as... More

The restaurant is in a posh part of L'eixample, so you would expect it to be expensive. It is a bad mixture of tapas and restaurant. That means that apart from having to slide through dozens of people sitting on the bar, when you finally sit in your table and you ask for the food, the rations are small and... More

I had spent 3 days earlier in July in San Sebastián, and fell in love with pintxos (please don't call them tapas) there. When I returned to Barcelona, I got a craving for them and managed to find this bar/restaurant, where the cooks reportedly are from San Sebastián. I didn't try the restaurant but managed to get a seat at... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
