This bar/restaurant is just fantastic - the food is excellent. In the front it looks like a bar, but in the back there is a restaurant. It is a real authentic place, great place to be and combined with excellent food I would love to come back. Had tapas and steak fillet. They have a lot of good fish dishes... More

It doesn't get more Euskadi than this, not even in the Basque country itself. Top quality ingredients for a simple, humble and straightforward type of cuisine. All we had was super tasty, meat was intense flavoured and tender, pimientos perfectly done, tortilla de bacalao was marvellous, Rioja was beautiful and homemade deserts got us crazy. It's funny because you sit... More

We had been to this restaurant several times in 2013 and I had written a great review. This time I was totally astounded by their sheer rudeness. The people next to us were given knives and forks and cloth napkins. When we asked for the same, nothing was delivered. They completely ignored us. I guess the only want Catalonians in... More

One of our friends that lives in Barcelona recommended this place! I think we were the only people in the restaurant that spoke English- so it was not touristy and the food was excellent! We ordered the steak for 2 and it was delicious! We didn't sit at the bar and have pinchos but those looked great as well!

This felt like the most authentic tapas bar experience. Not at all touristy and delicious bites of tapas. Each tapas comes with a toothpick. You grab the tapas you want, either from the bar or passed around on a tray. At the end, they count the toothpicks on your plate to tally up the bill. We read about how crowded... More

We came because our friend recommended the pintxos here. However we made a lunch reservation and turns out that the reservation is only for ala carte lunch and not the pintxo bar. Anycase we stayed and it was the best meal we had in Barcelona. The grilled razor clams were big and juicy. The cod fish omelette was very good.... More

We waited for 30 minutes outside this tapas bar to be first in line before it opened - we got a coveted seat at the actual bar and it was go time as soon as you entered the place. I didn't have a lot of tapas experience so we ate our fill of cold tapas not realizing that the hot... More

Don't be afraid the crowd in the front. It's good sign. Don't be afraid the waitress which looks like the horror orphane girl. It's her style. Rather be afraid what you'll do with an extra weight you'll get after visiting the place. The pintxos are great, the grilled hake is one of the best in city, so if you're on... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
